💃 Adobe’s AI Video Model is Here!

If you're a creative mind looking for that extra edge, Adobe has just what you need!

They just made another big move into the generative AI space with their new Firefly Video Model.

First up, is Generative Extend (now in beta for Premiere Pro).

Let’s say you’ve got footage that’s just a bit too short, or maybe someone’s eyes decided to take a scenic detour mid-shot. No worries—this feature has you covered.

You can now stretch clips by a couple of seconds (literally just two) and smooth out those little hiccups.

Sure, it won’t rescue an entire scene, but it could save you from the dreaded reshoot or endless editing tweaks.

Oh, and it works on audio, too — you can smooth out awkward transitions, but heads up, it won’t extend your soundtracks.

Meanwhile, on the web, Adobe is rolling out two new tools for creating videos from text or images.

Let’s start with Text-to-Video. It’s basically like Runway or OpenAI’s Sora; you just need to type in what you want, and bam! You’ve got a clip.

You even get to play with different styles (like regular “real” film, 3D animation, and stop-motion) and use some camera control features to tweak angles, motion, and other good stuff.

But if you’re feeling fancy and want more control, say hello to Image-to-Video.

This feature goes a step further by letting users add a reference image alongside a text prompt, giving them more control over the results.

Before you get too excited, be warned—it’s not perfect yet.

You might encounter a few wobbly backgrounds and cables doing a little jig, but overall, it’s pretty solid.

So, let’s manage those expectations—don’t dream of creating your own full-length movie with AI just yet.

These AI generative tools have some limitations. Your clips will max out at five seconds, and the quality is capped at 720p with 24 FPS.

In other words, you won’t be making any Hollywood blockbusters…for now. But hey, it’s a start, right?

Plus, they're working on speeding up the process (currently, it takes about 90 seconds to generate a clip), and there’s even talk of a “turbo mode” in the pipeline.

And here’s the best part: Adobe’s AI tools are commercially safe.

Unlike other platforms like Runway, which might train their models on anything they can scrape off the internet, Adobe is playing it safe by using content it has rights to.

So, you won’t have to worry about your AI-generated masterpiece landing you in hot water.

Plus, Adobe’s new videos will come embedded with Content Credentials, meaning your work will have AI usage disclosure and ownership rights baked in.

All these were announced at Adobe’s MAX conference, where they unveiled even more AI-powered goodies across their apps.

🤩 The New AI Tools Coming to Photoshop!

Adobe just kicked off its annual Adobe Max conference with exciting updates across its Creative Cloud suite.

One of the biggest is the new AI features for Photoshop.

Photoshop is getting a new "Distraction Removal" feature that automatically identifies and deletes unwanted elements like people, wires, or cables with a single click.

In addition, Photoshop users now have the option to choose between generative AI —specifically Adobe’s Firefly image model— and non-generative AI for the Remove Tool.

Or let the software automatically select the best option based on the image and scene.

Want to try it? The feature is now available on Photoshop’s desktop and web apps, with “more to come later,” says Adobe.

And the good news doesn't stop there.

Photoshop’s Generative Fill, Generative Expand, Generate Similar, and Generate Background tools are now generally available.

They have also been updated with the latest Firefly Image 3 Model, which is far better than the previous model.

It improves the photorealistic quality of generated outputs and understands complex prompts better than the previous model.

Adobe Illustrator, for example, is getting a new "Objects on Path" feature that gives designers more flexibility when aligning areas of their work.

The Mockup tool for staging designs on a 3D model is also now widely available, and the Image Trace feature, which converts PEG, PNG, PSD, etc., to scalable vectors, has also been upgraded.

InDesign now offers Photoshop’s popular Generative Expand tool, allowing users to extend images to fit whatever layout they require.

Meanwhile, Adobe’s new Firefly AI Video Model has introduced a new Generative Extend feature to Premiere Pro.

It’s in beta for now but will likely be used as the base for other features across Adobe’s Creative Cloud apps in the coming year.
