Hello and welcome to the Automated, your AI tour guide.
Ever wondered how your AI buddy comes up with its answers? Well, your wish just came true—OpenAI is now giving us a much clearer (and even entertaining) explanation.
Simply put, they’re making ChatGPT’s reasoning process a little less mysterious.
Here’s what we have for you today:

🤖 OpenAI’s o3-mini Now Explains Itself.

Guys, we’re getting a backstage pass to ChatGPT’s brain!
OpenAI just dropped an update for its latest model, o3-mini, letting both free and premium users peek into its step-by-step thought process.
Basically, when you ask a question, you won’t just get an answer—you’ll get a clearer rundown of how the model got there.

Think of it like watching your favorite chef explain their secret recipe… except some of the secret sauce is still under wraps.
Why now, you wonder?
Well, competition is heating up—especially with Chinese AI company DeepSeek, whose R1 model lays out its entire reasoning process like an open book.
OpenAI, on the other hand, is taking the Goldilocks approach: not too little, not too much—just enough detail to boost clarity and trust while keeping some of its AI magic under wraps for competitive reasons.
But there’s more: OpenAI has added an extra post-processing step where o3-mini reviews its own reasoning, filters out unsafe content, and simplifies complex ideas—so you’re not left deciphering AI jargon.
Plus, if English isn’t your first language, no worries—the explanation gets translated into your native tongue for a more accessible experience.
And the best part? This might just be the beginning. OpenAI’s Chief Product Officer, Kevin Weil, teased in a recent Reddit AMA that even more behind-the-scenes reasoning could be on the way.
So for now, you get a peek behind the curtain—but who knows? Tomorrow, OpenAI might just throw open the doors.
It’s a win for transparency, a boost for user trust, and, let’s be real—kind of fascinating to see how our AI buddy actually thinks.

🥳 GitHub Copilot Can Now Turn Images into Code.

GitHub Copilot is evolving fast, and its latest updates are making AI-powered coding more intuitive than ever.
With a new Vision feature that translates images into functional code and a smarter system that predicts your next edit, GitHub is pushing the boundaries of what AI can do for developers.
But that’s just the start!
GitHub also teased a future where Copilot could act as an autonomous software engineering assistant, handling complex tasks with minimal human input.
One of the biggest highlights is Copilot Vision, a game-changing update that allows users to upload images—like screenshots, diagrams, or wireframes—and have Copilot generate the corresponding interface, code, and even alt text.
This means a marketing team can mark up a website screenshot with requested changes.
And instead of typing out instructions, they can simply upload the image and let Copilot handle the rest. Amazing, isn’t it?

Another significant improvement is “next edit suggestions”, which takes Copilot’s autocomplete functionality to the next level.
Instead of just predicting code from the cursor’s position, Copilot now analyzes recent edits to anticipate what changes you might make next.
Developers can simply press Tab to accept or Esc to reject the suggestion, making coding even faster and more seamless.

The best part? Originally an extension in VS Code, Vision is now becoming a native feature in GitHub Copilot Chat.
GitHub is also expanding Copilot Edits, its tool for making multi-file changes via natural language.
It is now fully available and includes a new “agent mode” that identifies all relevant files for a requested change, reducing manual effort.
CEO Thomas Dohmke emphasized that Copilot is increasingly handling more of the “intent” behind user requests, making AI-assisted coding more powerful than ever.
Looking ahead, GitHub teased Project Padawan, a step toward a future where Copilot functions as a true software engineering agent.
While details are scarce, the vision is clear: Copilot could soon take on entire development tasks on its own, with developers simply assigning issues and overseeing progress.
“GitHub is actively seeking partners' and users' feedback to refine this ambitious initiative because it's not going to be perfect at this stage,” says Dohmke.

🤖ChatGPT Prompt Of The Day: Summarize a Complex Paper.
Complex papers can be tough to digest, but ChatGPT makes them easier.
It helps simplify dense information, highlights key insights, and cuts through jargon, saving you time and making complex ideas more accessible to a wider audience.
Here's a prompt that can help you with that.
Act as an academic research expert. Read and digest the content of the research paper titled [title]. Produce a concise and clear summary that encapsulates the main findings, methodology, results, and implications of the study. Ensure that the summary is written in a manner that is accessible to a general audience while retaining the core insights and nuances of the original paper. Include key terms and concepts, and provide any necessary context or background information. The summary should serve as a standalone piece that gives readers a comprehensive understanding of the paper's significance without needing to read the entire document.
