Submit to The Automated

We explore how automation, AI, and emerging technologies are reshaping business, work, and society — with a global edge and an Asian lens.

We're open to publishing sharp, original voices. Most of our pieces are commissioned or curated, but we welcome outstanding submissions that align with our themes.

What We’re Looking For

We accept:

  • Essays (700–1,200 words) on automation, AI, and tech strategy

  • Case studies on startups, operators, or emerging market dynamics

  • Frameworks or mental models for builders, thinkers, and policymakers

  • Visual explainers, timelines, or infographics

  • Interviews with founders, researchers, or practitioners

We like writing that is:

  • Insightful, non-obvious, and grounded in practice

  • Clear and well-structured (we love clarity over hype)

  • Relevant to operators, technologists, or the curious policymaker

Topics We Love

Some of our favorite angles include:

  • Automation in emerging markets (esp. Asia)

  • Startup teardown: how AI is being applied today

  • Operator frameworks for building with LLMs

  • Global regulation, demographic shifts, and AI

  • What GPT gets wrong (and right) about your domain

  • Behind-the-scenes of AI in logistics, education, or manufacturing
