Remember the awesome features that OpenAI unveiled at its spring update event? If you need a reminder, check here!

There might be a slight delay in getting them all, but first, let’s share some good news.

The desktop app for ChatGPT is now available for macOS, and once you install it, you can open ChatGPT from anywhere by simply pressing Option and Space together.

Oh, and Windows users, don't worry - your version is set to arrive later this year!

Now, for a bit of a bummer:

The advanced voice mode for ChatGPT, which caused a stir with Scarlett Johansson and almost got OpenAI in court, is not available just yet.

OpenAI says it will "need one more month to launch" an alpha version of the new voice mode to a small group of ChatGPT Plus subscribers.

And after that, the plan is to roll it out to all Plus customers in the fall.

Also, the new video and screen-sharing capabilities we saw during the event won't be coming soon, either!

However, the company says it'll keep us posted on a timeline, but that timeline depends on meeting its high safety and reliability standards.

So, please don’t hold your breath, but who knows, they might surprise us!

👊 Music Labels vs. AI Music Generators!

You won't believe what's happening in the music industry right now!

Universal Music Group (UMG), Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Records, and other big labels are suing Suno and Udio, two of the biggest names in AI music-making.

The issue?

Both AI companies use text prompts to create original songs, with Suno even available for use in Microsoft Copilot and Udio behind the viral AI song “BBL Drizzy.”

However, the music labels claim they use artists' works without proper consent.

For example, a Suno-generated song called Prancing Queen” contains lyrics to “Dancing Queen” by ABBA and sounds like the band.

They’ve now filed a case against Suno in Boston federal court and another against Udio in New York.

And they are asking for damages of up to $150,000 per work and other fees!

Suno, however, insists they don't replicate specific artists’ works and that training data was “confidential business information.”

And Udio has made similar claims, which only means that a major legal battle is heating up!🔥
