🆕 Dropbox’s New AI Tool

The first service is a tool for summarizing and querying documents, which provides users with a convenient feature commonly found in similar tools.

The second service is a universal search engine that can access your files in Dropbox but also across the entire web. It's called Dash.

Dash also introduces the concept of "Stacks" which replaces the traditional folders and offers a more flexible way to group and arrange files.

In the words of Dropbox CEO, Drew Houston:

“It’s more of a self-organizing Dropbox. Not everyone has to be their own librarian, filing things away.”

Dropbox made an intro video detailing the full potential of this new tool.

Even though the concept of cross-platform universal search is not new, Dropbox believes its advantage lies in its existing user base and the trust users have in uploading sensitive data to the platform.

Dropbox AI is available to all Pro customers and a few teams, and there’s a waitlist to get into the Dash beta as well.

😡 Marvel Faces Backlash Over AI-Generated Intro!

Marvel’s latest series, “Secret Invasion,” made its debut on Disney+ yesterday.

However, the series received a lot of backlash after it was confirmed the intro sequence was AI-generated.

Many artists expressed frustration on Twitter, citing ethical concerns and the potential elimination of artists' careers.

The first episode's end credits did credit real artists - however, there’s an AI technical director, animator, VFX technical director, art director, and a creative lead.

And that didn't sit well with a lot of people.

While AI has played a role in other Disney content, such as the de-aging of Harrison Ford in the new “Indiana Jones” movie, this is the first time that a Marvel TV show has used the technology.

Marvel has yet to publicly respond to the criticism.
