⚖️ Elon Musk Sues OpenAI!
Elon Musk is suing OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman — He claims that OpenAI has strayed from its original mission of developing AI technology that benefits humanity. Instead, they're now chasing profits thanks to their partnership with Microsoft.
For example, OpenAI is keeping the design of their GPT-4 model a secret, which the lawsuit claims is primarily driven by commercial considerations, not safety.
According to Musk, the model is "a de facto Microsoft proprietary algorithm", and he wants OpenAI to return to its roots and serve humanity's interests.
But that’s not all - Do you remember OpenAI’s superintelligent AI called Q* we told you about a few weeks ago — the researchers said it could threaten humanity and might have played a role in CEO Sam Altman's firing and rehiring five days later.
Well, a section of the lawsuit refers to Q*!
It claims that since Q* has an even stronger claim to being true artificial general intelligence (AGI), it is outside the scope of the agreement with Microsoft, which only applies to pre-AGI tech.
In the days following Altman’s firing and rehiring, Altman, OpenAI president Greg Brockman, and Microsoft “exploited Microsoft’s significant leverage over OpenAI” to replace board members with handpicked alternatives that were better approved by Microsoft.
It's hard to say if these allegations are true, but one thing is for sure — this lawsuit will need a hell of a jury!
What do you think? Are the allegations true, or is Elon making a power play? |
💃 Copilot for OneDrive
Remember when Microsoft teased us about sprinkling a bit of Copilot magic all over our Windows PCs and beyond?
Well, they weren't kidding!
They're doubling down on that promise, and this time, they're bringing Copilot to OneDrive!
According to a blog post released by Microsoft, Copilot in OneDrive will act as your research assistant — Finding, summarizing, and extracting information from various file types; we’re talking text documents, presentations, spreadsheets, HTML pages, and PDFs.
You'll be able to make Copilot do things like finding your tax documents or summarizing tedious PowerPoint presentations from work.
You can even ask for advice on improving your documents, and it'll provide you with key points or highlights that you can use to turn your document into a masterpiece.
The best part?
You wouldn’t have to struggle to come up with prompts.
Copilot is designed to understand natural language, so you can ask it specific questions about your files just like you would with a colleague or a friend.
It's that easy! For instance, you can use simple natural language prompts like:
Using the /sales-enablement.docx as a reference, create an outline for a sales pitch to a new customer.
For these selected resumes, create a table with names, current title, years of experience, educational qualifications, and current location.
Create a list of frequently asked questions about Project Moonshot.
OneDrive users will be able to try out Copilot later this month, and the full release is scheduled for late April.
Where do you think Copilot will pop up next? And how do you personally feel about Copilot appearing everywhere?
