Gemini is making its way to iPhones?!

Plus, level up your content strategery!

Hello and welcome to the Automated, your AI tour guide.

Siri’s been the group project slacker for the longest time —and Apple knows it.

Right now, a team-up with Google’s Gemini might be her ticket to redemption. Yep, the same AI that’s been flexing on Android is now eyeing a spot on your iPhone.

ChatGPT’s already in the mix, and Apple looks like it’s setting the stage for a full-on AI showdown on iOS.

So what does that mean for you? Well, let’s break it down.

Here's what we have for you today

🥊 ChatGPT vs. Gemini Coming Soon to iPhones

So, guess what?

Google and Apple might finally be teaming up to give Siri a much-needed AI glow-up.

Yep, Google CEO Sundar Pichai just casually dropped the news during the trial (yup, that antitrust trial)—turns out they’re this close to sealing a deal that would bring Gemini, Google’s powerful AI model, straight into the iPhone world.

Here’s what’s going down:

  • Gemini might soon work with Siri: Google and Apple are cooking up a deal to integrate Gemini into Apple’s ecosystem—specifically through Siri and the new Apple Intelligence features.

  • It’s coming sooner than you think: According to Pichai, they expect to lock the deal in by mid-2025, with a possible rollout by the end of this year.

  • Why should you care? Let’s be real—Siri’s been that well-meaning friend who tries but constantly disappoints. With Gemini in the mix, Siri could finally start delivering ChatGPT-level answers, analyze images, generate content, and actually sound... smart.

  • And yes, Siri already has a thing with ChatGPT: Right now, Siri can call on ChatGPT when things get too complicated—but Apple’s clearly aiming for a “choose your fighter” kind of vibe. The plan is to let users pick between models like ChatGPT or Gemini, depending on what you vibe with.

And that’s not all—Pichai also confirmed that he’s had AI-focused chats with Tim Cook, mostly about roadmaps and how Gemini could roll out across Apple’s ecosystem.

Apparently, just like Craig Federighi hinted last year, more third-party AI models are on Apple’s to-do list for later in 2025.

Oh, and here’s the kicker: This isn’t the first whisper we’ve heard about Gemini on iPhones. A MacRumors contributor recently spotted “Google” listed as an option in the iOS 18.4 beta, buried deep in Apple Intelligence settings.

So yeah... the signs are literally in the code.

Bottom line?

Apple’s not putting all its AI eggs in one basket. It’s building an AI buffet—ChatGPT today, Gemini tomorrow, and who knows... maybe even Elon’s Grok someday?

Either way, since that mysterious “AI-powered Siri” Apple teased has yet to make a grand entrance, this might finally be the thing that saves Siri from being the weakest link in your Apple squad.

📢 Other Major Announcements from Meta’s Generative AI Event

Alright, so Meta just kicked off its very first generative AI conference (yes, they finally threw one), and while everyone was distracted by the flashy Llama updates, they lowkey dropped something spicy for WhatsApp called:

Now, WhatsApp is known for its end-to-end encryption, so this whole “AI-powered WhatsApp” thing seemed a little tricky at first.

But before your privacy alarm goes off — relax, they say this thing is built with your privacy in mind.

Here’s the scoop:

  • Private Processing is Meta’s attempt to bring AI into WhatsApp (think: message summaries, writing suggestions, and more) without peeking into your private convos.

  • It’s optional. So, you’re not getting AI help unless you say, “yes, please.”

  • The tech runs on a Trusted Execution Environment — which sounds like something out of a spy movie, but really just means your data gets processed securely in Meta’s cloud.

  • Plus, Meta swears no one — not even Zuck and co. — can read your messages. Only you and the person you’re chatting with can see them, just like it’s always been.

And because they know people will be side-eyeing any “AI + privacy” combo, they’re doing two things:

  • Letting security researchers audit the tech, and

  • Adding it to their bug bounty program (aka, “find the hole, win some cash”).

Oh, and there’s no official launch date yet — this is just Meta giving us a “first look.” But it sounds like they’re laying the groundwork for AI that actually respects your digital boundaries (shocking, I know).

They also hinted this privacy-first AI approach could roll out to more of their apps eventually.

Meanwhile… Meta's Smart Glasses Just Got a Little More Nosy

If you're rocking the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, heads up: Meta just tweaked the privacy policy, and it’s... a mixed bag.

Here’s what changed:

  • AI camera is now always on: Unless you turn off the voice command, your camera’s AI smarts are always listening and ready to go. But honestly, it’s not super creepy... unless you forget to turn it off.

  • No more opting out of voice recordings storage: Yup. You can delete your voice recordings manually, but you can’t stop Meta from storing them in the first place anymore.

  • Also, most recordings stay up to a year, and if Meta thinks the recording was a butt-dial situation, they’ll delete it in 90 days.

The silver lining? Meta says any photos or videos taken by voice command are saved to your phone’s camera roll and not used to train their AI — unless, of course, you share them with other services… then it’s game on.

Lastly:

  • Their glasses now have a live translation feature.

  • And — get this — they’ve got a fancier $1,000 version of the Ray-Bans lined up for 2025!

Overall, Meta wants to be your AI BFF without being a privacy nightmare. But they’re also clearly hungry for data to train their models.

So yeah, it’s a classic "you get cool features, but read the fine print" situation.

Really, you need to go read the whole report yourself.
