🚫 Meta Pauses AI Plans in Europe!

Ever since Meta introduced its AI assistant last year, they’ve been on a mission to make it global!

Right now, Meta AI is available on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger in the US and more than a dozen countries outside the US.

But it seems Europe is not interested in that—at least not yet!

NOYB, an advocacy group, filed 11 complaints against Meta in several European countries, questioning the company’s legal basis for collecting personal data.

Not long after that, the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) stepped in!

They have asked Meta to delay training its AI models on content that had been publicly posted to Facebook and Instagram profiles.

And this is despite Meta’s compliance efforts!

The Company says they informed the European [Data Protection Authorities] since March, incorporated regulatory feedback, and even offered European users an opt-out option in an attempt to comply with European privacy laws.

Yet they have been denied, even when they are only following the steps of other tech companies.

Both Google and OpenAI have already used data from European users to train AI, they write in a blog post.

However, they will continue to work with the authorities so that people in Europe have access to Meta AI.

✍️ Trump Uses AI to Write Speech!

Like many of us, Donald Trump has begun to experience firsthand just how much AI can make our lives easier!

And he’s not keeping quiet about it.

On a recent podcast, he narrates how he met someone from the tech industry who showed him an AI program that wrote a “beautiful” speech in about 15 seconds.

But he did not say when he used the speech if he did at all.

He, however, confessed he’d never seen anything like it before and even joked about his speechwriter’s career being over, thanks to AI platforms like OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

Not to worry though, Trump is well aware of the negative sides of AI.

He shared an experience where he saw a deepfake picture of himself promoting a product and couldn't tell.

In his words: “The voice was perfect, even the lips moved perfectly with every word.”

The only thing he missed to mention was what position he’ll take on AI if he does get to the presidency.

Will he welcome it? Or will he oppose it?🤷‍♀️
