Microsoft 365 Copilot's Epic Redesign Revealed!

And, learn how to boost your socials using creative prompts + Heygen’s AI magic

Hello and welcome to the Automated, your AI tour guide.

The AI arms race has never been hotter, and this time, Microsoft seems to be leading the charge with its newly redesigned 365 Copilot.

But it’s not just Microsoft—across the tech world, giants are revamping their AI tools to make them smarter, sleeker, and more user-friendly than ever before.

So, what does this all mean for the future of work? Let’s dive into the game-changing updates that are making Copilot a must-watch.

Here's what we have for you today

 🤩 Microsoft 365 Copilot Reimagined

You know how Copilot has been that quiet little productivity helper in the background? Yeah… not anymore.

Microsoft’s stepping it up. Big time.

They're launching a newly designed version of their Microsoft 365 Copilot app soon—and honestly? It’s looking like the AI buddy we actually want to use.

Here’s what’s new (and lowkey kinda cool):

  • New Chat Interface That Remembers You: The app now opens to a chat window that looks and feels a lot like the consumer version of Copilot—but this one remembers what you’ve done, gets familiar with your work style, and starts acting like that one friend who just gets you. Minus the drama. The more you use it, the more it learns—and the better it gets at helping you work smarter.

  • AI Search That Goes Beyond Microsoft Land: The new AI-powered enterprise search doesn’t just dig around Word or Outlook. It now pulls info from Slack, Google Drive, Jira, Confluence—even ServiceNow. Basically, it snoops everywhere so you don’t have to.

  • Create Like a Boss: There’s also a new Copilot Create section that lets you design visuals, videos, surveys—all using OpenAI’s GPT-4o. So yes, if you want to throw some Studio Ghibli-style art into your next PowerPoint, go off. You’ve got the tools.

  • Notebooks the AI-Powered Project Hubs: These are mini digital workspaces where you can drop in links, docs, even pages, and Copilot will focus entirely on that one project—helping you make sense of it all.

  • Pages: Like Google Docs, But Built Different: Remember Microsoft Loop? Yeah, this is that energy. Pages let you and your team co-create content with Copilot—across Outlook, Teams, and the whole Microsoft ecosystem. It’s collaborative, seamless, and the best part is, Copilot picks up half the work load.

Oh—and guess what? There’s an Agent Store now.

It’s exactly what it sounds like: a sidebar where you can grab ready-made AI agents that act as researchers, analysts, and specialists from Microsoft or third parties. So yeah, you now have a digital squad ready to jump in and help. No onboarding required.

But wait—it gets deeper.

Just when you think it’s all features and no philosophy, Microsoft drops a whole new concept: The Agent Boss Era.

Basically, the whole concept revolves around you no longer needing to do the work anymore. Instead, you’re stepping into the role of CEO—delegating tasks, managing processes, and leading your own mini-army of AI assistants.

As Jared Spataro (aka Microsoft’s “AI at Work” guy) puts it:

“Every worker needs to start thinking like the CEO of an agent-powered startup.”

And yeah, that sounds pretty epic.... until you pause and think: If these AI agents keep getting smarter—who’s really the boss?

Still, let’s not panic just yet.

With these new updates, Microsoft is handing us some seriously powerful tools—smarter features, sharper capabilities, and a quiet little reality check:

AI isn’t here to replace you— but someone who knows how to manage it just might.

So if you're not learning how to work with AI? You could very well be replaced by someone who is.

🥳 The Oscars Finally Welcomes AI!

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (aka the Oscars people) finally acknowledged generative AI in their official rulebook.

Took ’em long enough, right?

But before you start imagining a future where ChatGPT bags Best Original Screenplay, here’s what actually went down:

  • AI’s on the guest list now, but it’s not getting VIP treatment. The Academy says using AI in a film won’t automatically help or hurt your Oscar chances.

  • What does matter? How much actual human creativity went into the work. In short: if AI helped? Cool. But if it basically made the movie? Eh… good luck convincing the voters.

Why this matters:

This is the first time AI has ever been mentioned in the Oscars’ official rules — and yeah, it’s kind of a big deal. Especially considering the absolute chaos of the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes, which were partly sparked by fears over AI taking creative jobs.

Oh, and get this — the Academy almost required filmmakers to disclose AI use. But they backed off last minute. So no AI confessionals just yet…

(Although, we’re still kinda curious how that would even work.)

Also in the rulebook shake-up:

Oscar voters are now technically required to watch all the nominated films in a category before casting their final vote.

But — plot twist — it’s all based on the honor system. No tracking required. No proof. No screenshots of an actual Letterboxd binge.

So... will everyone actually follow the rule?

Let’s be real — some folks might still be voting based on vibes, trailers, or whatever their group chat's hyping that week.

Bottom line?

The Academy’s message to AI is pretty clear: “We see you. We’re not panicking… but yeah, we’re definitely watching. ”
