 😱 Microsoft’s New AI Feature a Disaster?

Cybersecurity expert Kevin Beaumont warns that Microsoft's AI-powered Recall feature, set to debut with Copilot Plus PCs on June 18th, could be a security nightmare!

Here’s why:

Recall takes screenshots of everything you do or see on your PC and then allows you to search and retrieve anything in seconds.

Everything in Recall is designed to remain local and private on-device so that you can enjoy a secure and encrypted Recall experience.

But Beaumont has found that the screenshots are stored in a plain text database, making them easy targets for malware attacks.

Beaumont also points out that the feature is enabled by default on new Copilot Plus PCs, and the only way to turn it off during setup is to tick an option, that opens the Settings panel.

But, of course, Microsoft disagrees!

They insist that Recall is an optional experience, that comes with built-in privacy controls.

It won’t store material protected with digital rights management tools or take snapshots of certain kinds of content, such as InPrivate web browsing sessions in Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome, or other Chromium-based browsers.

But alas, nothing was said of its potential for malware that tries to steal the Recall database!

Clearly, there are some holes somewhere, and Microsoft may well need to rework Recall or recall it.

🤯 AI Clones in Zoom Meetings Could be the Next Big Thing!

Zoom, like every other company right now, is making a big investment in AI, and its CEO, Eric Yuan, has some pretty wild plans for what AI will do.

Eric said in a recent interview that it's possible for us to not attend Zoom meetings ourselves!

Instead, we could create something he calls a “digital twin”, which is essentially a deepfake avatar of yourself.

This digital twin could attend meetings on your behalf, receive phone calls, read your emails, sort out the most important ones, and even make decisions for you.

The only time you’d need to step in is when the AI gets stuck, which, according to Eric, wouldn't be often.

As amazing as this sounds, I can’t help but think of all the ways this might go wrong, but we’re sure Zoom wouldn’t embark on such a journey without a solid plan.

Don’t expect this technology anytime soon, though.

Eric says AI is simply not there yet, but he projects it could happen in about five to six years.

Would you be willing to give it a try when the time comes?

Before you answer, you should check out Eric’s whole interview here to get the full scoop!
