🤑 Elon Musk Throws a $97.4 Billion Grenade Into the AI Wars!

Elon Musk just made his boldest move yet, dropping a $97.4 billion bid to buy OpenAI’s nonprofit arm—because apparently, suing them wasn’t enough.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Musk, backed by his AI company xAI and a lineup of heavyweight investors (including Valor Equity Partners, Palantir’s Joe Lonsdale, and Hollywood mogul Ari Emanuel), submitted the offer Monday morning.

And his goal? To take back control of the company he co-founded in 2015, dramatically split from in 2019, and has been battling ever since.

In Musk’s own words, OpenAI has lost its way, abandoning its original mission of open-source, safety-first AI. And naturally, he’s here to “fix” it.

But there’s just one tiny problem: Sam Altman isn’t interested. Oh, and the timing? Absolute chaos.

Altman is already juggling a $40 billion fundraising push, a $500 billion AI infrastructure project, and OpenAI’s controversial shift to a for-profit structure.

Now, Musk’s surprise bid has thrown another wrench into the chaos.

And since he never takes no for an answer, he’s reportedly ready to match or outbid any offer.

But Altman’s response? Pure sarcasm.

He hopped on X (formerly Twitter, now Musk’s playground) and posted: "No thank you, but we will buy Twitter for $9.74 billion if you want."

Ouch. Given that Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion, only to watch its value tank, that, folks, was a not-so-subtle dig.

When asked for an official comment, OpenAI simply pointed to Altman’s post.

So, what now?

Musk isn’t backing down, OpenAI isn’t budging, and the AI drama is getting even juicier.

💻 Google rolls out NotebookLM Plus for individual users.

Google is cranking up the AI research game!

NotebookLM Plus, the souped-up version of its AI-powered note-taking assistant, which made its grand entrance in December, is no longer just for businesses.

Now, individual users can get in on the action through the Google One AI Premium plan. Yep, you read that right! 😃

Anyone subscribed to Google One AI Premium for $20 a month can dive in, unlocking up to 500 notebooks, 300 sources per notebook, 500 chat queries, and 20 AI-generated audio clips per day.

And for students? Google is making it even sweeter with a massive 50% discount.

However, if you’re a student in the U.S. (and over 18), you can slash that price in half and get all these features for just $9.99 a month. Pretty impressive, don’t you think?

But that’s just the beginning! NotebookLM is gearing up for big upgrades, from mobile apps to brainier AI features.

Since its debut, NotebookLM has been turning heads—especially with its wild Audio Overviews feature that turns your notes into AI-generated podcast-style discussions.

It’s so cool that even Meta and ElevenLabs jumped on the idea.

And Google has more in store —They’re working on expanding Audio Overviews to other languages, ensuring every version sounds as smooth and natural as the original English experience.

A NotebookLM mobile app is also in the works! No more being tied to a desktop—soon, you’ll be able to take AI-powered research on the go.

Plus, Google is exploring how to give NotebookLM even more reasoning power, making it smarter at solving complex problems and organizing your thoughts like a next-level AI assistant.

Despite all these premium upgrades, Google isn’t leaving free users in the dust.

They’re doubling down on keeping the standard NotebookLM experience solid while giving Plus subscribers even more perks.

And people are clearly paying attention—NotebookLM has racked up over 28 million visits in just three months, with nearly 9 million in January alone.🤯

Curious about what NotebookLM Plus brings to the table? Dive into the whole story and explore all the latest updates!
