OpenAI just made Deep Research free(ish)!
Plus, nail your next sales pitch with this one simple prompt

Hello and welcome to the Automated, your AI tour guide.
What if ChatGPT could do your research for you—without hitting a paywall or running out of juice?
OpenAI just made a quiet move that could change how we research forever… and it’s kinda genius.
Here's what we have for you today
🤩 ChatGPT’s New Research Mode

OpenAI just made a move that’s low-key a big deal if you’re into using ChatGPT for research.
They’ve rolled out a “lightweight” version of their deep research tool—and yep, it’s now available to everyone (free users included, finally).
But before you start thinking “budget version = bad,” let’s break it down:
It’s powered by a scaled-down version of their o4 model called o4-mini.
It’s not the full-blown powerhouse you get with the original deep research tool—but it still gets the job done with surprisingly solid depth.
Basically, you’ll get shorter answers, but they still hit with insight and quality. Kinda like when your smart friend drops a fire TL;DR instead of a five-page essay.
Why this matters:
It’s cheaper to run, which means OpenAI can raise usage limits for all of us—without frying the system (or their budget).
If you’re using the full deep research and hit your cap, ChatGPT will seamlessly switch you to the lightweight version. No fuss, no drama, just vibes.
Also worth noting:
Enterprise and education users are getting the lightweight tool next week, with the same usage perks as Team users.
This update is part of a much bigger wave. Everyone’s jumping into the deep research game—Google’s Gemini, Microsoft’s Copilot, and Elon’s Grok are all out here flexing their “thinking AI” muscles. It’s giving AI Olympics for who can research smarter, not harder.
OpenAI’s play here?
Make the tool way more accessible without dumbing it down. And we’ve got to say it’s smart, sneaky, and honestly… kind of game-changing to.
As for how the lightweight version performs in real time—we’ll just have to wait and see. But hey, it’s live now, so dive in and try it out!

💃 Adobe’s Latest Releases!

So, Adobe just launched some next-level updates to its Firefly AI lineup, and honestly, they’re mind-blowing.
First up, Firefly Image Model 4 is here, and it’s packed with some serious upgrades.
We’re talking better quality, faster processing, and WAY more control. You can tweak things like camera angles, zoom, and structure—basically, you can tell the AI exactly how to create the image you want.
Oh, and it can generate images in up to 2K resolution! And if you need even more detail, Firefly's got you—there’s an “Ultra” version that handles super-complex scenes with tiny details like a pro.
But it gets even cooler with:
Firefly Video Model: Remember Adobe’s Firefly video model that was in limited beta last year? It’s now available to everyone. You can now generate video clips just by typing a text prompt (yes, really) or using images. You can control things like camera angles, frame start/end points, atmospheric effects, and motion design. Imagine telling AI to create a video for you at 1080p without lifting a finger. It’s real, and it's here.
Firefly Vector Model: Need editable vector-based artwork for logos, patterns, product packaging, or any other design magic? This model is your new best friend. You can iterate, generate variations, and tweak until it’s exactly what you need.
And here’s where it gets even juicier:
All-in-One Web App: The Firefly web app now houses all these models, plus a few from Adobe's competitors like OpenAI, Google, and Flux. You can literally switch between models at the drop of a hat, and every image generated gets content credentials attached—so you can prove it’s your creation.
Firefly Boards: Adobe’s also testing a new tool called Firefly Boards, which is like a moodboard, but on steroids. It lets you generate, remix, and collaborate on images. Whether you’re brainstorming or just need a space to throw all your ideas, Firefly Boards has your back.
And just when you thought they couldn’t do more, they include:
APIs & More: Yep, Adobe’s also opening up its APIs for Text-to-Image, Avatar Creation, and now a Text-to-Video API (beta). So if you’re a dev or just want to plug these tools into your own projects, you’re all set.
And wait for it… Adobe’s even testing a web app called Adobe Content Authenticity, where you can add metadata to your images to show off ownership and attribution.
You can also control whether AI companies get to use your work for training. Total game-changer if you’re serious about copyright.
To sum it up, Adobe is taking Firefly from a cool AI toy to a full-blown creative powerhouse.
Whether you’re making images, videos, vectors, or even brainstorming, Adobe’s got you covered—and they’re adding more tools to the toolbox as we speak.
So yeah, it’s basically the AI creative revolution we didn’t know we needed.
