📑 Reddit’s New Content Policy!

Reddit is rolling out a new "Public Content Policy" that will restrict access to its public data.

But don’t worry; it’s mostly for the larger tech firms like Google, who want to use Reddit’s data for other purposes, including AI training.

Access to Reddit data for research and other non-commercial efforts will continue.

Here’s a breakdown of the rules:

The reason? They don’t want to give “all of that value to some of the largest companies in the world for free.”

Can you really blame them when reports show that the company has already raked in a massive $203 million in data licensing arrangements alone?

Oh, and of course, the company wants to protect its users’ privacy, too!

They're also going the extra mile by launching a dedicated subreddit, r/reddit4researchers, for researchers who are using Reddit's data for non-commercial purposes.

And also partnering with OpenMined to help develop a program to guide and grow researchers’ collaboration with Reddit.

👏 TikTok Adds AI-generated Labels to Third-Party Content!

Want to be absolutely sure what’s AI-generated or not? No worries, TikTok’s got you covered!

The Company already automatically applies an “AI-generated’ tag to content made on its platform using its AI tools.

But they’re taking things a step further —The tags will now also include content created on other platforms.

This means that if you upload images or videos to TikTok that contain metadata tags indicating the presence of AI-generated content, TikTok will detect them and tag them as such.

And guess what else?

They say it’s the first social media platform to support the new Content Credentials, which will undergo a “multi-phase implementation” on the platform.

So, keep an eye out for those labels—it's the future of content credibility!
