🤩 New YouTube Feature: Restyle Your Music!
Remember YouTube’s Dream Track feature released in November 2023?
You Know, the one designed to auto-generate short 30-second music tracks in the style of nine different artists who choose to collaborate with YouTube.
Well, YouTube is testing a new feature that expands on that idea.
This experimental feature allows a small group of creators to restyle the elements, such as mood or genre, in a limited number of official songs by entering a prompt.
And voila—You’ll have a customized 30-second soundtrack that reimagines the original song while preserving its core vocals and lyrics.
So, if you’re a creator in the experiment group, all you need to do is:
Select an eligible song.
Describe how you want to restyle it.
Then, generate a unique 30-second soundtrack to use in your Short.
It’s that easy, and you won’t have to stress about copyright issues, either.😃
Each restyled soundtrack will clearly credit the original song in the Short and on the audio pivot page.
It’ll also be clearly indicated that the track was created with the help of AI.
Keep in mind, though, the specifics about which songs are eligible for restyling in this test, and the music labels YouTube is partnering with are still under wraps.
However, sometime in June, it was reported that YouTube had approached major labels about using their tracks to train AI models.
So, fingers crossed, they’ve secured some amazing choices!🤞

📸 Perplexity’s New Ad Experiment!
Perplexity is stepping into the world of ads!
Starting this week, the AI-powered search engine will show ads in the U.S., which will be formatted as “sponsored follow-up questions.”
For instance, you’ll see questions like “How can I use LinkedIn to enhance my job search?” appearing to the side of your answers, clearly marked as “sponsored.”
And guess what? Brands are already in!
Indeed, Whole Foods, Universal McCann, and PMG are some of the major players participating in Perplexity’s new ad program.
Oh, and get this: Perpexity's AI will still generate the answers to these “sponsored questions.”
According to their blog post, the brands sponsoring the questions will not write or edit them, and advertisers will not have access to users’ personal information.
But why bring ads to Perplexity now?
Perplexity says the goal is to generate revenue that can be shared with its publisher partners, especially since subscriptions alone aren’t cutting it anymore.
However, there exists an undeniable challenge of incorporating ads into AI-generated content.
Microsoft briefly explored showing ads in the responses given by its chatbot on Bing, but after a few weeks, it quietly withdrew the “sponsored results.”
And recently, OpenAI opted not to include ads in its AI-powered search tool, ChatGPT Search.
Some analysts have even voiced concerns about ads' scale, reach, and targeting capabilities on Perplexity.
With all these factors in play, it’s safe to say Perplexity is under pressure to pull this off.
