Welcome Automaters, 👋
So, the absolute wild child of the AI world just got let off its leash again, and the community is radiating pure "we've been burned before" energy.
Remember Fable 5? The AI model so absurdly powerful that the U.S. government literally slapped instant export restrictions on it just days after its debut? Yeah, that one. After being abruptly yanked from the market by Anthropic, this Mythos-class beast has officially made a dramatic comeback.
To smooth things over, Anthropic even raised the usage limits through July 7 so everyone can get a free taste of the forbidden fruit.
But here’s where the plot thickens. A senior columnist over at ZDNet just gave the big comeback a thorough test drive, and this guy, including other reviewers and developers are officially advising people to skip the hype for now. Apparently, the shiny new safety features have turned Fable 5 into a bit of a dramatic ghoster.
Here’s the 5 major red flags shaking the community:
It is wildly volatile: For mission-critical tasks, an AI that randomly stops working mid-prompt is an absolute no-go. Unlike other premium developer tools where you can just throw money at the problem to keep the engine running, if Fable 5 triggers a safety alert, the model simply shuts down and vanishes from the task.
The guardrails keep moving in secret: Anthropic shipped this version with a new automated safety classifier that watches your inputs like a hawk. If it senses even a whiff of security-related content, it quietly downgrades itself to Opus 4.8 mid-task without even asking you. And because Anthropic hasn’t published clear definitions for these guardrails, something approved today could easily get you restricted tomorrow.
The pricing structure is painful: Enjoy the free trial while it lasts, because after July 7, Fable 5 is getting kicked off standard subscription plans entirely. It’s moving to a strict pay-per-token model costing $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens. That’s exactly double the cost of Opus 4.8, and for Max subscribers, the financial math is simply not mathing.
It can get painfully slow: The community is completely divided on speed. One viral thread on Reddit compared the sudden slowdowns to trying to run a massive local AI model on your own laptop hardware. Meanwhile, users on X are arguing it isn't actually slower, just paced differently. Either way, absolutely nobody is calling it lightning-fast.
Opus 5 is likely right around the corner: Let's look at the chessboard. With Sonnet 5 already crushing the mid-tier market and the Fable and Mythos lines back online, Opus and Haiku are the only models left waiting for their next-generation upgrades. So the question is: Why drop a fortune on a restricted Fable when the true flagship announcement could drop any day now?
The Big Picture Takeaway:
At the end of the day, Fable 5 might genuinely be the smartest, most capable piece of architecture Claude has ever shipped. But if it keeps quietly demoting itself to an older model the second it feels a little bit of pressure, being the "most powerful" doesn't mean much. After all, a supercomputer isn't very useful if you can't actually rely on it to show up for work.

🛡️Google Is Secretly Using Your Photos and Voice Notes to Train AI, Here's How to Opt Out

Plot twist absolutely nobody asked for: Google just quietly flipped a massive privacy switch in the background, and unless you manually dig through your settings right now, you have already opted into their latest data sweep.
Here’s the juicy scoop. Google has expanded the scope of what it collects to train its generative AI models. They’re now scooping up way more of your personal interactions, including your uploaded images, files, and even audio and video recordings.
How sneaky are we talking? This entire change rolled out under the radar via a low-key customer email disguised as a friendly upgrade to "give users more control." Cute framing, Google, but we see right through it.
What exactly counts as "your stuff" under this new expansion? Basically, any media you pass through their primary search-related tools.
And get this:The data collection stretches across the entire Google ecosystem, including Search, Maps, Shopping, Flights, Hotels, Translate, and News. To paint a clearer picture, here’s what is officially on the table:
Google Lens Images: That quick photo you snapped to visually search for a pair of shoes? Saved.
Search Live Audio: Those conversational voice chats you had with the Google app? The audio recordings can be retained.
Translate Files: Even practicing your Spanish or uploading documents into Google Translate might be recorded for backend training.
Google isn't even trying to hide it. Straight from the horse's mouth, their updated documentation states that saved media is used to "develop and improve Google services and technologies, including AI models and safety measures."
How to take back your privacy
The saving grace here is that you actually get a final say in the matter. Because this update operates on an auto-consent system, you have to go in and manually shut the door.
Here’s your quick, step-by-step security audit to lock things down:
Uncheck "Save Media": Head over to your dedicated Search Services History page. Find the new Save Media checkbox and uncheck it immediately. This stops future images, files, and voice recordings from being hoarded for AI training. What’s more, you can also configure how often you want saved data automatically deleted, whether after three months, 18 months, or 36 months.
Ditch the History Entirely: If you are feeling extra private, you can toggle off the entire Search Services History history switch, which stops text logs and transcripts from being saved.
Review Personalization: Take a quick stroll over to the Search Services Personalization page to make sure no extra media is being retained to customize your feeds.
The Big Three: As always, double-check your broader account dashboards covering Web & App Activity, Timeline, and YouTube History.

The ultimate bottom line? Free digital services will always find new corners of your life to mine for data. Check your settings today, because Google definitely isn't going to remind you twice.

💡 Prompts to try:
Act as an expert executive resume writer and personal branding coach specializing in tech and AI talent.
I need you to transform my raw resume data into high-converting, compelling LinkedIn "Experience" entries. The goal is to move far beyond a dry list of responsibilities and instead craft a narrative that attracts high-caliber network connections, recruiters, and strategic partnerships.
For each role provided in my resume below, structure the output using this 3-part framework:
1. THE CONTEXT (1-2 sentences): Briefly frame the company's mission/scale and the overarching challenge you were brought in to solve. (e.g., "Steered the AI integration strategy for a fast-growing digital publication, aiming to bridge the gap between complex machine intelligence concepts and 50k+ daily readers.")
2. THE "HOW & WHAT" (3-4 high-impact bullet points): Write results-oriented achievement statements. Every bullet point must follow the X-Y-Z formula: "Accomplished [X], as measured by [Y], by doing [Z]."
* Start with strong, varied action verbs (e.g., Architected, Spearheaded, Championed, Optimized).
* Quantify the impact wherever possible (percentages, revenue, time saved, scale).
* Focus heavily on leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and business value.
3. THE TECH STACK & KEYWORDS (Tag format): A clean, scannable list of tools, methodologies, and core competencies relevant to that specific role to optimize for LinkedIn SEO.
CRITICAL TONE & FORMATTING GUIDES:
* Tone: Authoritative, forward-thinking, and authentic. No corporate fluff or empty buzzwords (like "synergy" or "detail-oriented").
* Format: Use clean line breaks and bullet points. Keep sentences punchy and scannable for mobile viewers.
* Write in first-person ("I") or implied first-person ("Spearheaded..."), keeping it natural for a social platform.
