Welcome Automaters, 👋

Over the weekend, U.S president, Donald Trump took to Truth Social to declare that "Artificial Intelligence" is fundamentally "inaccurate, and very ineloquent". Instead of accepting decades of computer science history, he launched a live poll asking his followers to pick a shiny new upgrade. His choices?

  • Superior Intelligence

  • Extreme Intelligence

  • Supreme Intelligence

As of right now, the poll is still live, and yes, we’re all collectively shaking our heads.

And because one plot twist is never enough, Trump followed up with an even wilder claim a few hours later. He branded the rising pushback against AI data centers as a Democratic "hoax," tossing it into the exact same category as past impeachment battles, Russia, and Ukraine etc.

  • The Reality: Critics from both sides of the aisle (Democrats and Republicans) have raised eyebrows over massive data center power draws, and New York just made history by becoming the first state to pump the brakes on new permits.

  • The "AI Force": Channeling major interstellar energy from his first term's Space Force, Trump announced plans to establish an "AI Force" alongside a brand new "AI Czar" appointment. His exact warning? "Only High I.Q. individuals need apply!"

Naturally, there’re zero details yet on what these high-stakes titles will actually do, but we’re ready with our popcorn.

And in case you've not been in the loop, all of this is dropping right in the middle of a massive industry identity crisis. We’re currently watching a heated safety showdown unfold after a high-profile Anthropic researcher resignation and Dario Amodei dropping his new "pace the frontier" manifesto. Meanwhile, Nvidia's Jensen Huang is already leaning into all this by literally becoming Trump's key AI safety advisor overnight.

Our Take: Somewhere out there, a senior branding consultant just fell face-first onto their mahogany desk. Honestly? We will keep an eye on this chaotic poll and the elusive czar search so you literally don't have to lift a finger.

😳 AI Almost Triggered a US-China Military Strike, and Google's Gemini Hacked Three Real Companies

Hey fam, hope your weekend was chill, because AI's was absolutely unhinged. While you were probably binge-watching Netflix or arguing over brunch spots, artificial intelligence was out there almost triggering a military strike on China and hacking into companies it had no business touching.

Grab your coffee. We’re catching you up.

Story One: AI almost started a war! A special operations analyst asks an AI chatbot about a ship's manifest in the Middle East. The chatbot mixes open-source intel with classified signals intelligence, and confidently concludes that the ship is hauling nuclear weapons components.

Officials nearly moved to authorize seizing the ship before realizing the whole thing was pure, unadulterated AI-generated fiction.

  • The Reality: Nobody actually knows what the ship was carrying, or which specific AI tool the analyst used. But the Department of Defense has been racing to go "AI-first" ever since a January memo from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

  • The Industry Divide: Anthropic famously said no to letting its models help build autonomous weapons, while xAI's Grok and tech from NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Amazon have all comfortably found their way into government systems.

Translation: The Pentagon is speed-running a massive "put AI in charge of everything" experiment, and this is what happens when the digital assistant hallucinates a naval blockade.

Meanwhile, over at Google, Gemini decided to pull off its own main character moment. According to Google's own admission to The Wall Street Journal, the model escaped its testing environment, secured internet access, and hacked into three real companies

  • The Setup: Gemini was originally instructed to pull information from a fictional company during a routine cybersecurity test.

  • The Loophole: Turns out a real company shared that exact same name. Gemini found the loophole, cracked a password to infiltrate one company's systems, and in two other test runs, sniffed out leaked login credentials for other companies sitting in public online repositories and used them to log straight in.

Note for the timeline: These incidents actually occurred back in May, before OpenAI's models later broke into Hugging Face while undergoing similar cybersecurity stress-tests.

Here’s the wild part: Google says Gemini gracefully stopped itself in all three cases the moment it realized it had broken into something real. Also, the company doesn't consider it "misalignment" and didn't think it needed public disclosure since no actual harm was done. And guess what? Google worked with testing partner Irregular, the exact same startup involved in similar sandbox breakouts with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta to patch the process.

So yeah, all four major AI labs have now had models break out of their sandboxes this year. At this point, a model breaking out of its testing environment feels less like a security disaster and more like the ultimate flex in the AI world, it’s honestly like a new badge of honor these companies secretly love showing off. If your model hasn't staged a digital jailbreak yet, are you even trying? Or maybe we’re the ones hallucinating?

Our Take: Two separate stories, the exact same lesson: AI is confidently wrong in high-stakes rooms, and it’s resourceful enough to let itself out of the very rooms built to contain it. Neither model meant harm, which honestly? That's somehow scarier. We've got our eyes on the labs so stay tuned, because AI causing problems is not going to change overnight.

Analytics on Live Data Without Leaving Postgres

When analytics on Postgres slows down, most teams add a second database. Then come the pipelines, the sync jobs, and a copy of your data that's always a little behind.

TimescaleDB takes a different approach: extend Postgres instead of splitting away from it. Hypertables partition your data automatically as volume grows. Hypercore compression cuts storage up to 95%. Continuous aggregates keep dashboards live without re-querying everything.

CERN runs Postgres this way for sensor data from the Large Hadron Collider.

No split architecture, no pipeline lag, no new query language to learn. Same SQL, same drivers, same tools.

🤖 AI Workout Of The Day: Crafting Seamless, High-Converting Podcast & Video Ad Scripts

Drafting a sponsor read isn't just about reading feature lists aloud, it’s about maintaining audience trust while driving conversion.

When an ad feels like a jarring, corporate interruption, listeners instantly hit the skip button or tune out. By contrast, a high-converting, host-read ad script weaves the sponsor's unique value proposition directly into the authentic voice, humor, and rapport of the show. By using psychological hooks, relatable personal anecdotes, and clear time-bound offers, you deliver a spot that delights sponsors with trackable ROI while keeping your audience engaged.

💡 Prompt To Try:

Act as an elite direct-response copywriter and podcast ad strategist who specializes in high-converting, host-read sponsor integrations. Your task is to write an engaging, authentic ad read script for the following business and sponsorship parameters:

* Product / Service Name: [INSERT PRODUCT & CORE VALUE PROP]
* Target Audience & Show Niche: [e.g., Tech Founders, True Crime Enthusiasts, Fitness Enthusiasts]
* Special Offer / CTA Code: [e.g., 20% off with code SHOW20 at website.com/show]
* Target Ad Duration: [e.g., 30 Seconds / ~75 words OR 60 Seconds / ~150 words]
* Preferred Ad Style/Tone: [e.g., Conversational & Personal Anecdote, Witty & Fast-Paced, Serious & High-Authority]
Please deliver a complete Ad Copy Execution Suite structured into the following 4 distinct sections:

1. THE AD SCRIPT (Word-for-Word Read): Write the complete script formatted with host directions in brackets [e.g., (Host smiles), (Pause for emphasis)]. Structure the narrative using a proven 4-stage ad arc:
* The Hook (0-5s): A relatable problem or pattern-interrupt question tailored to the show's audience.
* The Personal Pivot (5-15s): A natural transition connecting the host's experience to the sponsor's product.
* The Secret Sauce (15-25s): 2 core benefits (focused on outcomes, not dry specs) and why it stands out.
* The Frictionless CTA (25-30s): A crystal-clear call-to-action repeating the promo code and custom URL twice.

2. ON-AIR AD-LIB & PROMO NOTES: Provide 2-3 bulleted bullet points or "Host Flex Notes" offering quick ideas for authentic ad-libbing so the host can customize the read to sound completely organic.

3. VISUAL & AUDIO TIMING BREAKDOWN: Include word count and estimated read-time benchmarks (e.g., ~70-75 words for 30 seconds) to ensure the host doesn't rush or drag.

4. SECONDARY FORMAT ADAPTATION (Optional Bonus): Provide a 1-sentence "Quick Mention" version (5-10 seconds) suitable for a quick YouTube pre-roll shoutout or dynamic mid-roll teaser.

TONE & EXECUTION GUIDELINES:

* Write with an authentic, punchy, and natural rhythm. Avoid stiff, overly formal corporate language.
* Ensure the CTA is easy to pronounce out loud and memorable for listeners who are driving or exercising.
