Welcome Automater Fam! 👋
This Week’s Winning Prompt is for the Lore Lovers, the Map Drawers, and the Plot-Twisting Wizards Among Us
Wanna write stories that don’t just live on the page—but feel like they could have their own Wikipedia?
Yeah, same. Because nothing makes or breaks a story faster than the world it’s set in.
And this week’s prompt? It’s here to make sure your story world doesn’t just exist—it breathes.
Say hello to the “Worldbuilding First” Prompt — aka the cheat code for crafting immersive, believable universes that basically write the novel for you.
Before you get tangled in plot twists and chaotic main characters, this prompt helps you lay the groundwork: A world so layered, so alive, so wildly imaginative, your readers won’t wanna leave.
We’re talking: politics, power struggles, sacred traditions, lost cities, tech no one’s allowed to touch… the works
What This Prompt Unlocks:
A cohesive, textured universe that makes your story feel real
Instant plot ideas that emerge organically from the world itself
Character archetypes that belong in that world, not just dropped into it
The kind of lore that makes fans go, “Wait, is there a map?”
It’s ideal for:
Fantasy & sci-fi authors
Game writers
TTRPG creators
Worldbuilding nerds (hi, yes, we see you 👋)
Or literally anyone who wants to stop writing flat worlds and start crafting legends.
🔧 Quick Tips to Use It Like a Pro:
Be specific with your genre. Cyberpunk? High fantasy? Alternate 1960s? Say it.
Got a loose idea in mind? Floating islands? Mushroom cities? Wasteland deserts? Drop it in.
Don’t skip character archetypes. They help unlock the kinds of stories your world wants to tell.
Use this before plotting. A strong world hands you the best stories on a silver platter.
Chase the sparks. Ask follow-ups on what excites you. That’s where the real gold is.
The Prompt:
Help me create an immersive world for a [GENRE] novel.
Start by developing in rich detail the world’s:
-Geography (climate, terrain, key regions, natural resources)
-Culture (values, traditions, languages, art, social structures)
-Technology (level of advancement, common tools, key innovations)
-Politics (government systems, power dynamics, historical tensions or conflicts)
-Major factions (key groups, alliances, or rivalries that shape the world)
Then generate:
-Three compelling character archetypes that would naturally emerge in this world
-Two to three plot premises that could organically unfold within this setting
👉 Be in-depth and imaginative—go beyond surface-level summaries and bring this world to life.
