ElevenLabs—the AI startup that’s been turning heads with its ultra-realistic AI voices—is now listening instead of just talking.

Fresh off a $180 million funding round and a $3.3 billion valuation, the company has officially launched Scribe, its first stand-alone speech-to-text model.

And they’re not just dipping their toes in—they’re coming straight for OpenAI’s Whisper, Google’s Gemini 2.0 Flash, and other major players in the transcription space!

🎤 What’s the Big Deal?

Scribe supports over 99 languages and claims to deliver industry-leading accuracy. 

ElevenLabs says English transcription reaches a 97% accuracy rate, and more than 25 languages fall into the “excellent” category (less than 5% word error rate).

That includes heavy hitters like:
