Welcome Automaters!
Another day, another AI company quietly rewriting the rules… and this time, it’s your chats on the line.
Here's what we have for you today
🛡️ Anthropic Updates Data Retention Policy

So, here’s the sitch: Anthropic—the brains behind Claude—woke up this week and decided your late-night “explain quantum physics like a pirate” chats are way too valuable to delete.
Starting September 28, every Claude user has a choice:
Opt out and keep your convos private.
Do nothing… and let your data help train future Claude models for the next five years.
And they’re not exactly shouting this from the rooftops. More like whispering it in a blog post buried halfway down their site. Cute, right?
Here’s What’s Changed:
Before: Anthropic deleted user data within 30 days unless flagged for policy violations, in which case retention could stretch up to two years.
Now: Claude Free, Pro, Max, and Claude Code users are all part of the training pool unless they opt out.
Who’s safe: Enterprise customers (Claude Gov, Work, Education, API users) remain exempt—same playbook as OpenAI’s enterprise shield.
Anthropic says this is all about user choice, safety, and making Claude smarter at coding, reasoning, and analysis. Which sounds lovely.
But in reality? This is about fuel. LLMs thrive on mountains of real-world conversations. Anthropic’s competing with OpenAI and Google, and tapping into millions of user chats is like striking gold.
But then they pulled off the classic sneaky UX Move.
New users get a clear choice upfront.
Existing users? They’re hit with a splash screen: a giant “Accept” button… and a tiny, pre-switched-on toggle for training permissions. Click too fast, and boom—you’ve just handed over your entire Claude history.
Privacy experts are side-eyeing this hard, and the FTC has literally warned companies about sneaky designs like this. But hey… who reads fine print, right?
Our Take:
No one’s shocked AI companies want your chats—your data is the secret sauce for building smarter models. But Anthropic framing this as a friendly “choice” while making it way too easy to say yes by accident? Yeah… that’s a trust-killer.
Also, It’s not the end of privacy, but it’s another nudge toward a world where “delete” means “archive forever.” If nothing else, take this as a sign to actually read those pop-ups before you smash that big black “ACCEPT” button.
Because in the AI age? The fine print is the plot twist.
Maybe go check out Anthropic’s blog post for all the nitty-gritty details on this quiet-but-huge shift.
The Key to a $1.3 Trillion Opportunity
A new real estate trend called co-ownership is revolutionizing a $1.3T market. Leading it? Pacaso. Created by the founder behind a $120M prior exit, they already have $110M+ in gross profits to date. They even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO. And you can invest until September 18.

🏛️ Trump Administration’s Bold Move to Secure U.S. Chipmaking

While AI companies are busy trying to use your chats like it’s their diary, Washington made a power play of its own—and this one’s got billions of dollars, political strategy, and one very stressed-out Intel on the line.
Yesterday, we finally got the full receipts on a deal signed just last week between Intel and the Trump administration, and let’s just say… it’s giving “national security over everything.”
Here’s what’s up: Intel’s foundry business—its custom chip-making side hustle—has been bleeding cash (to the tune of $3.1B in Q2 losses) and looked like a prime spin-off candidate. But Washington wasn’t having it. Instead, they locked Intel into a deal that feels less like a handshake and more like golden handcuffs:
Uncle Sam buys in: The U.S. government scooped up 10% of Intel’s shares.
Five-year clause: if Intel loses control of its foundry, Washington can scoop up an extra 5% stake at $20/share.
In exchange? Intel walked away with $5.7B in funding, straight from the CHIPS Act—the $53B initiative aimed at making U.S. chipmaking great again.
So, why the drama? It’s all about the Trump administration wanting more chip-making done in the U.S.—at a time when most of the industry leans on Taiwan’s TSMC for manufacturing.
But here’s the catch: Intel’s foundry is kind of a dumpster fire. It’s losing money, investor confidence is shaky, and the exec who built the division—Pat Gelsinger—abruptly left last year. Basically, Washington is betting billions that Intel can turn this ship around while tethered to a business Wall Street wanted to cut loose. It’s bold. Risky. Messy.
Bottom line:
This is like forcing your friend to keep driving a beat-up car because it “builds character,” except the car is worth billions, and now the government owns a piece of it.
Best-case scenario: this becomes the start of America’s chip comeback story. Worst-case? Five years of headaches and a massive taxpayer bill.
Either way, Intel just went from private sector heavyweight to a starring role in Washington’s geopolitical tech strategy.

🤖 ChatGPT Prompt Of The Day: Building Our Game: Step 3
So we’ve got our heartbeat—the core gameplay loop. But here’s the thing: even the most fun loop can get old if players don’t feel like they’re going anywhere
That’s where player progression systems come in.
They’re the long-term motivation engine—the reason players keep coming back.
Progression can look like:
➡️ Leveling up and unlocking new abilities
➡️ Upgrading gear and tools
➡️ Customizing characters and skills
➡️ Unlocking new worlds or story chapters
Why is this crucial? Because progression gives players a sense of growth, purpose, and ownership. It transforms short bursts of fun into a journey worth sticking around for.
Think of it this way: the loop keeps players entertained moment-to-moment. Progression keeps them invested for the long haul.
Here’s the prompt:
"Act as a professional game systems designer. Help me design the rules and core mechanics for a new [type of game: board game, card game, RPG, or video game]. Your job is to transform my initial concept into a playable framework. Specifically, guide me through:
1. The main objectives and win/lose conditions – What’s the ultimate goal, and how do players succeed or fail?
2, The core gameplay loop – Outline what players will repeatedly do (e.g., explore, gather, fight, trade, solve puzzles).
3. Character or player progression systems – Design ways for players to grow stronger (skills, levels, abilities, upgrades, equipment). And provide different progression tracks to maintain player choice and variety.
4. Balancing mechanics – How to keep difficulty fair, engaging, and replayable.
5. Rule clarity – Tips for explaining mechanics simply so players can pick them up fast.
6. Prototype ruleset – End with a concise bullet-point version of the rules that I can immediately test.
Make sure your response blends professional structure (clear rules, balance considerations) with creative sparks (unexpected twists, thematic elements, unique mechanics) so the game feels both playable and original."
