💃 OpenAI Drops Major Updates for MacOS!

OpenAI just dropped some exciting goodies for MacOS users!

As part of its '12 Days of OpenAI' series, they’ve rolled out some super handy updates for the ChatGPT desktop app, and honestly, they’re pretty cool.

First up, coders now have a powerful new ally dubbed the "Work with Apps" button.

This handy new feature lets ChatGPT seamlessly integrate with a whole team of coding apps, including:

PyCharm, IntelliJ IDEA, Android Studio, MatLab, Nova, Script Editor, TextMate, AppCode, CLion, DataGrip, GoLand, PHPStorm, RubyMine, RustRover, WebStorm, Prompt, Warp and even good ol’ BBEdit.

So, whether you're debugging, coding, or just trying to make sense of some complex codes, ChatGPT’s got your back.

And hey, writers got something, too.

The app now works seamlessly with writing tools like Apple Notes, Quip, and Notion. So whether you’re penning the next bestseller, organizing your thoughts, or making that to-do list you may or may not stick to, ChatGPT is your trusty sidekick.

And guess what else? Voice commands are part of the deal, too!

The desktop app now supports Advanced Voice Mode—perfect for those days when typing feels like a chore. Just speak, and ChatGPT handles the rest.

As for privacy, you’re in good hands.

ChatGPT only interacts with your apps when you manually activate it, and it doesn’t snoop around in your data or use your info for anything shady. So yes, your privacy is "safe and sound" (allegedly… but so far, so good!).

Oh, and all these features are already live!

All you need is the latest version of the MacOS app, a subscription plan like Plus, Pro, Team, Enterprise, or Edu, and you’re good to go.

But here’s another thing:

 🤩 Google’s Gemini 2.0: AI that Shows its Thoughts!

Google is shaking up the AI world with Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking, an experimental model designed to tackle complex problems by reasoning through them.

Think of it as AI with a “thought process”—breaking down tasks into smaller steps for smarter solutions.

According to Jeff Dean, chief scientist at Google DeepMind, this model leverages “thoughts” to refine its reasoning while operating at a faster speed.

A demo shows how it solves physics problems step-by-step while providing a transparent view of its thought process.

In another striking example shared by Google product lead Logan Kilpatrick, the model artfully reasons through a problem involving visual and textual elements.

However, keep in mind that this isn’t necessarily “reasoning” like humans do.

But it does allow the machine to dissect instructions into smaller, more digestible tasks, ultimately paving the way for more powerful outcomes.

That’s a win, right?🤔

Here's a prompt that can help you with that. 

Write a series of [X] sales emails for my new product [PRODUCT NAME AND BRIEF DESCRIPTION]. These emails should go out over the course of [X] days. The first (day [X]) should introduce the product briefly, the second (day [X]) should highlight the product’s key benefits, the third (day [X]) should list FAQs about the product and answer them, and the fourth (day X) should be a short email with a strong sense of urgency.
