Welcome Automaters, 👋
Let’s be honest: using the ChatGPT desktop app has felt like navigating a maze.
Between the ChatGPT side, the Codex side, and those constant sub-tabs for Chat versus Work, it’s way too easy to lose track of where your actual project went.
Well, the good news is OpenAI is finally fixing this mess.
According to a fresh email sent to users, OpenAI is officially rolling out a major redesign to merge the Chat and Work tabs into one seamless space. The company is testing this with a select group of users first to gather feedback before opening the floodgates to everyone.
Here’s the rundown on what’s changing, why it matters, and the sneaky little detail buried in the fine print:
You no longer need to jump between tabs to move from brainstorming to execution. You can drop in your files, launch your plugins, and instruct ChatGPT to build a website, draft a presentation, or execute web tasks, all inside a single flow while you guide its work.
Codex Stays Put: Don’t panic if you rely on Codex for heavier coding workflows. It’s staying completely separate inside the desktop app.
The Shared Token Catch: Here’s the real plot twist! Both ChatGPT and Codex will now pull from the exact same token allowance pool. While OpenAI claims this won’t affect average users, heavy power users might hit those pesky rate-limit resets a lot faster depending on their model usage.
The Bigger Picture? If this move feels familiar, it’s because Anthropic literally pulled the exact same move with Claude back in September by combining its chat and workspace features into one screen. It looks like the tech giants are officially locked in a design arms race, and honestly? We’re totally here for the convenience.

🦾 Anthropic Warns of Impending Recursive Self-Improvement in S-1 Filing

Everyone is obsessing over Anthropic’s updated S-1A financials, talking about how revenue is soaring while expenses blow through the roof. But listen, because the real drama was buried deep in the fine print.
Tucked inside its Risk Factors section, Anthropic basically dropped a quiet bombshell: they might be on the absolute cusp of unleashing Recursive Self-Improvement (RSI).
If you’re new to the panic, RSI is the mythical inflection point where an AI gets so good at training itself that tech progress explodes exponentially overnight.
Here’s why everyone is losing their minds over it:
For The Doomer View: RSI is the point of no return. The AI upgrades itself so fast that it slips completely out of human hands, growing indifferent to human survival while pursuing its goals.
For The Enthusiast View: RSI is the ultimate holy grail! It turns AI into a hyper-efficient machine for scientific breakthroughs, limitless productivity, and world-changing discoveries.
Anthropic seems to think RSI is a double-edged sword of high promise and massive peril. They admitted in the filing that while AI already speeds up their internal R&D, letting AI build stronger AI could trigger wild safety risks if things accelerate too fast.
The plot thickens right here. Earlier this year, people dismissed RSI as pure buzzword hype. But Anthropic just added two wild disclosures to their official paperwork:
They already missed things: They previously used AI to build new models and did not even realize how dramatically the capabilities had jumped until after the fact.
The threshold is imminent: Their internal tracking indicates they could hit their official threshold for "dramatically accelerated progress driven by AI" very soon.
Translation? Claude is getting powerful so fast that even its creators are scrambling to keep up with what they built.
Before you bolt for your underground bunker, Anthropic insists no current model has crossed this threshold yet. They also promised to keep human handlers in the loop for the foreseeable future, noting they plan to update their Responsible Scaling Policy so humans stay firmly in control of frontier models.
Now, let’s be real for a second. An S-1 filing is part legal risk warning and part hype-building marketing show. Declaring your AI is so powerful it might start building itself is the ultimate flex for potential investors.
Still, considering Claude’s jaw-dropping leaps in coding, complex math, and cybersecurity lately, if Anthropic says self-improving AI is right around the corner, maybe we should actually listen and start governing accordingly??
And don’t forget: We’re officially back on YouTube, if you’re yet to follow us there, do that now, trust us you’re missing a lot.
When someone asks AI what to buy, be the answer.
Search didn't die. It moved. Your buyers ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity what to buy, and they act on the answer they get.
That answer is assembled from sources most companies have never looked at. If you're not in there, a competitor is.

🤖 AI Workout Of The Day: The Ultimate Guide to Anthropic’s New Background Agent: Claude Duet

On October 21, right on the heels of SpaceXSI, Meta, and OpenAI, Anthropic officially crashed the party. They dropped Claude Duet, their shiny new personal agent designed to proactively run your life in the background.
While classic Claude sits around waiting for you to open a chat, Duet actually comes to you. It operates inside its very own virtual machine, sports a dedicated web browser to surf the web, and hooks directly into your connected apps. It works on your tasks even when you are completely away from your phone or computer.
Right now, Duet is strictly in VIP preview mode. Access is currently limited to Claude Pro and Max subscribers based in the US.
If you want in, you have to get on the official waitlist via Anthropic’s site.
Here’s what you will need to hand over:
Your basic info: Name, company, and email address.
Your device OS: State whether you are team Android or team iPhone (Anthropic built dedicated mobile apps specifically for this drop).
Your use case: A brief pitch detailing the exact tasks you plan to hand off to your agent.
What Will Claude Duet Cost You?
This is where things get spicy.
Anthropic plans to include Duet as a standard perk in its $20 per month Pro plan and up.
Why is that a huge deal? Because OpenAI is out here charging wild money. OpenAI’s rival Dot agents start at a staggering $100 per month, with top tiers climbing all the way to $500 per month. Anthropic offering this at the entry level is a massive power move.
Team & Enterprise Users: You are out of luck for now. Anthropic is holding back enterprise rollouts until later.
Usage Limits: During this preview, Duet shares usage limits across your other Claude apps (like Code and Cowork).
Smart Pacing: To keep you from blowing through your monthly quota in five minutes, Anthropic designed Duet to check your connected accounts every few hours rather than polling nonstop.
What Can You Actually Do With It?
Think of Duet as a hyper-capable virtual assistant that refuses to sit idle. Every morning, it generates a quick briefing with your key action items based on your connected tools.
You can delegate serious workloads to it, including:
Scheduling meetings and managing inbox chaos.
Building custom web apps or generating weekly sales and cashflow dashboards automatically.
Tracking newly published research papers in your niche and flagging the important ones.
The Catch: Privacy.
Now here’s the real tea. Duet’s entire magic trick relies heavily on reading your personal data, past memories, and connected apps.
The bigger your digital footprint inside Anthropic, the smarter Duet gets.
For productivity junkies, it’s an absolute dream. But if handing over the keys to your digital life makes your skin crawl, that privacy tradeoff might be a tough pill to swallow.
