🤑 ChatGPT Subscription Prices Set to Rise!
Looks like using ChatGPT could get pricier soon!
According to reports from The New York Times, OpenAI is planning to raise the subscription price for ChatGPT Plus.
If you’re a ChatGPT Plus user right now, you’re paying $20 a month—but by the end of the year, that could jump to $22 and by 2029, that price could nearly double to $44 a month!
Why the price hike? Well, it’s all about the money, of course.
Even though OpenAI pulled in a solid $300 million in revenue this August, they’re still looking at a staggering $5 billion loss for the year. Yikes.
And where’s all that money going?
It turns out that a lot of it is being gobbled up by staffing costs, office expenses, and the mind-blowing amount of cash it takes to train and maintain AI like ChatGPT.
At one point, running ChatGPT cost OpenAI jaw-dropping $700,000 a day. No wonder they’re feeling the heat from investors to start closing the gap.
But there’s a potential downside for OpenAI here.
They’ve got about 10 million paying users today, but surveys show that plenty of them already think $20 a month is pushing it.
If prices climb too quickly, they could see some serious backlash from users who might not stick around for the long haul.
So, would ChatGPT still be worth the price, or would it be too steep for you?

🤯 Apple Bows Out of OpenAI’s Funding Round!
Apple is reportedly no longer in talks to join OpenAI’s upcoming $6.5 billion funding round, but don't worry; this won't affect their current relationship with OpenAI.
ChatGPT will still be an optional feature in Apple Intelligence as it rolls out in late 2024 and early 2025.
So, why is Apple pulling out now?
A few theories are floating around. One is that the recent news that more key executives left OpenAI has raised eyebrows about the company’s direction.
Or perhaps it could be related to OpenAI's recent move to shift from a nonprofit to a for-profit company.
This changeover is no walk in the park, and if it is not completed within two years, investors in the current round may request their investment money back.
But hey, it's all just speculation for now! Nothing's for sure!
Meanwhile, other big players like Microsoft and Nvidia are still expected to join the new funding round.
Microsoft, for example, is rumored to be investing another $1 billion in addition to the $13 billion it has already invested.
