Hello and welcome to the Automated, your AI tour guide.

If you thought we’d seen all the AI surprises China had to offer with DeepSeek, think again—because another Chinese AI model has just entered the scene, and it’s causing a stir.

Just like DeepSeek, this new player has Wall Street sweating bullets—especially Nvidia. And even OpenAI and its US rivals might want to start looking over their shoulders.

Here’s what we have for you today:

  • 🥊 The new Chinese AI challenger that’s crushing OpenAI and Anthropic.

  • 📳 Google quietly drops next flagship AI model!

  • 🎨 Creating art with Midjourney: tips and techniques for beginners.

🥊The New Chinese AI Challenger That’s Crushing OpenAI and Anthropic.

Just when the AI world was catching its breath after DeepSeek’s impressive DeepSeek-R1, another Chinese AI model dubbed Kimi K1.5 has stormed onto the scene!

And this one isn’t just here to compete; it’s here to flex.

Developed by Beijing-based startup Moonshot AI, Kimi k1.5 is being hailed as China’s first real rival to OpenAI’s o1 model—and it’s already outscoring GPT-4o and Claude 3.5 Sonnet in some major benchmarks.

In other words, if AI were a boxing match, OpenAI just took a few unexpected punches.

So, what’s the big deal about Kimi k1.5?

Kimi k1.5 isn’t just another AI model—it’s a multimodal, reinforcement-learning-powered beast.

In simple terms, it doesn’t just read and generate text; it can process images, videos, and code, making it way more versatile than DeepSeek-R1.

It also learns through reinforcement learning (RL)—which means instead of just memorizing data, it figures things out through trial and error and gets better over time.

And when it tackles complex problems, it uses Chain of Thought reasoning, which means it breaks down complex problems step by step—kind of like how you convince yourself to go to the gym (“I’ll just put on my shoes… Okay, maybe I’ll step outside… fine, I’ll go in”).

This makes it scarily good at solving complex problems.

In benchmark tests, Kimi has:

  • Crushed GPT-4o in math, scoring 96.2 on MATH 500.

  • Ranked in the 94th percentile on Codeforces (a major coding benchmark).

  • Outperformed GPT-4 and Claude 3.5 Sonnet by up to 550% in certain reasoning tasks.

Oh, and a few more key highlights are:

  • Massive memory & long-context skills: Kimi remembers ridiculously long inputs (up to 128k tokens), making it perfect for analyzing vast amounts of data, long documents, and tackling tasks that require memory.

  • And efficiency? Kimi doesn’t waste words. It reuses previous outputs and avoids rambling making its responses shorter, smarter, and sharper (something certain chatbots cough could learn from).

  • Built on a budget: And here’s what should really make OpenAI and Nvidia nervous. While US AI models cost billions to develop, Kimi was built at a fraction of the price—proving that China isn’t just competing, it’s optimizing.

  • Oh, and yes, it does real-time web search across over 100 websites, it supports the English language, is completely free to use with no usage limits, and can be accessed through the official website (kimi.ai).

Should Nvidia Be Worried?

If you thought this was just a competition between AI companies, think again—because Nvidia just got caught in the crossfire.

China’s AI revolution is proving that high-performance AI models can run on way cheaper chips, which is terrible news for Nvidia, whose dominance relies on selling very expensive GPUs.

The company’s stock plunged a jaw-dropping $595 billion in a single day after DeepSeek’s announcement.

While some analysts are calling it a temporary dip, others are wondering: Is Nvidia’s AI empire at risk?

If Chinese companies keep proving they can build top-tier AI models without Nvidia’s hardware, things could get very interesting—very fast.

The Bottom Line

Between DeepSeek-R1 and Kimi k1.5, China’s AI push isn’t just serious—it’s game-changing.

OpenAI and its US counterparts suddenly have real competition, and Nvidia might have to rethink its entire strategy.

If this AI race were a movie, China just flipped the script—and the sequel is looking even wilder.

Honestly, OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic better start paying attention… or risk becoming the next BlackBerry of AI.

📳 Google Quietly Drops Next Flagship AI Model!

Google has quietly unveiled its latest flagship AI model, Gemini 2.0 Pro Experimental, but without the usual fanfare.

Instead of a grand announcement, the tech giant slipped this exciting news into a changelog for its Gemini chatbot app.

This stealthy launch of Gemini 2.0 Pro Experimental, the successor to last February’s Gemini 1.5 Pro, hit the scene as the tech community buzzes about the impressive advancements from Chinese AI startup DeepSeek.

However, the arrival of Gemini 2.0 Pro Experimental positions itself as the leading model within Google’s Gemini AI family, promising enhanced factuality and superior performance in coding and mathematics.

Imagine tackling your next big project with AI that can easily whip up complex coding solutions or solve intricate statistical problems!😀

Google's changelog touts that this new model will enable users to navigate even the most daunting tasks more accurately.

So, whether you're building a new app or diving into quantum algorithms, Gemini 2.0 Pro Experimental is designed to be your resourceful companion.👍

Gemini 2.0 Pro Experimental is now accessible to Gemini Advanced users through Google One AI Premium and Google Workspace add-ons, though it's still in its early preview phase.

While it strives for excellence, Google cautions that users may encounter “unexpected behaviors” and occasional mistakes.

But that’s not all Google has up its sleeves for you!

Alongside this mysterious rollout, Google officially made its Gemini 2.0 Flash model—the lightweight version it introduced in December—available in the Gemini app for all users.

So, was Gemini 2.0 Pro Experimental’s reveal really an accident? Or did Google simply jump the gun? 🤷‍♀️

Either way, AI enthusiasts now know what’s coming, even if Google would rather they didn’t.
