Claude’s in our Gmail Now?!
Plus, learn how to make your research so much easier to read

Hello and welcome to the Automated, your AI tour guide.
AI’s still out here evolving like it’s in its villain origin story.
First up: Claude can now dive into your Gmail and calendar to serve up smarter replies. Grok’s also flexing a new doc-builder tool that screams “Notion, but make it Elon.”
And OpenAI might be plotting its own X rival—because apparently, the Elon drama is very much not over.
Here's what we have for you today
📧 Claude Can Now Access Your Emails!

So, Anthropic just pulled a slick move.
They’re teaming up with Google to make their AI assistant, Claude, a whole lot smarter—and way more useful.
Here’s the lowdown:
Claude can now tap into your Google Workspace.
Yep, your Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Docs are now fair game (with your permission, of course).
That means Claude can now:
Find important emails without you digging through 3,000 unread ones
Check your calendar and surface events you forgot you RSVP’d to
Pull info from Google Docs so you don’t have to copy-paste like it’s 2009.
And before you start picturing Claude going full hacker-mode—breathe.
This integration is still in beta and only available for users on Claude’s Max, Team, Enterprise, or Pro plans.
Plus, if you’re on a team plan, your admin has to flip the switch before you get access. So yeah—no secret auto-snooping happening here.
Why this matters:
Claude’s trying to be that smart, chill assistant who doesn’t make you upload 15 docs or write an essay-length prompt just to get a straight answer.
Think: You ask it about your kid’s schedule—it checks your calendar, scans school emails, looks up the weather—and boom, tells you soccer practice might get rained out. Efficient. Thoughtful. Basically, Claude’s trying to become your AI co-parent.
And yes, Claude includes citations.
If it references anything from your Workspace, it’ll show exactly where it got that info from.
BUT—there are some ‘hmm’ moments, especially around privacy and security.
People had questions. Like: “Wait… is Claude gonna read all my emails?”, “How deep is it digging?” “And can I stop it from poking around certain files?”
Anthropic’s response? Pretty straightforward.
Here’s what they clarified:
Claude only sees what you let it see
It can’t access other people’s stuff—everything stays in your personal bubble
It doesn’t train on your data by default (so your inbox rants are safe)
Most importantly, connections are secured with strict authentication and access controls.
Still, just a heads-up: Claude can’t schedule events or send emails—yet. So nope, you can’t fully offload your to-do list on it just yet.
Also new: Claude Research.
Think of it like Claude’s nerdy, overachiever alter ego. It can run multiple web searches, gather info quickly, and give you detailed answers in under a minute.
It’s also Anthropic’s answer to ChatGPT’s web browsing and Google’s deep research agents—but with a balance between speed and depth.
Here’s what you should know:
It doesn’t use a fancy new model—just Claude’s existing web-search power
It’s rolling out in the US, Japan, and Brazil (with more countries coming soon)
it’s also only available to Max, Team, and Enterprise users (don’t worry, Pro users—you’re next)
The Big picture:
Anthropic’s clearly gunning for that “we can do cool AI stuff too” energy.
Claude is getting smarter, more personal, and quietly carving out its space in the AI productivity war—where ChatGPT and Gemini are already showing off.
In March, it hit 3.3 million web users. While that’s not bad, it’s still a baby compared to ChatGPT. But with upgrades like this? It’s definitely growing up fast.

🤩 Elon’s AI Just Got a Studio!

Elon’s Grok just entered its “creative genius” era.
xAI (aka Elon Musk’s AI company) just dropped a new feature called Grok Studio, and it’s basically turning Grok into your super-smart, always-on creative buddy.
Here’s what it does:
Document & code wizardry: You can now create and edit docs, code snippets, draft reports—even whip up simple browser games—with Grok helping you out in real time.
Split-screen collab: Everything opens up in a side window, so you and Grok are basically working side-by-side like a virtual co-working session—minus the awkward small talk.
Code-friendly playground: Grok Studio handles Python, C++, JavaScript, and even HTML previews like a champ. Think of it as an IDE, but with extra AI sauce.
Google Drive hookup: Oh yeah, they added Drive integration too. Now you can drop in your Slides, Docs, and Sheets—and Grok will help you riff on them, rewrite, summarize, or whatever you need.
Now, before you go thinking, “Wait… haven’t I seen this before?”—you’re not wrong.
OpenAI launched something similar called Canvas for ChatGPT.
Anthropic got there even earlier with Artifacts for Claude.
But hey—this is Grok’s take.
And if you’re already deep in the Elon-verse, it’s one more tool to help you build, create, and brainstorm without missing a beat.
Oh and, there’s more info where that came from—go check it out here.

Hi Automaters -
I hope you enjoyed our just-released YouTube trailer of our new AI Education Course Library - which was, of course, partly AI generated. The absurd part that is - the rest is all human!
We’re very excited about our course library - which currently covers 5 courses and represents some of my work at the University of Chicago, American University of Armenia, and Techstars - and building it out further from here. Many of you Automaters say that AI education is one of the main reasons why you subscribed to us - and I’m super stoked that we are delivering on that promise.
And trust me - we have many courses already prepared.
I’d love to know what you think about our trailer - comment in the poll below!

🤖 ChatGPT Prompt Of The Day: Improve Readability.
Going deep into academic research often leads to complex writing. But complexity doesn't mean the paper should be hard to read.
With ChatGPT's assistance, you can present your findings in a way that's both thorough and easy to digest.
The following prompt will help you do that:
