Experts Uncover Major Flaws in DeepSeek’s AI.

Turns out DeepSeek’s latest AI model isn’t just a hacker’s dream—it’s a full-blown security disaster.

According to The Wall Street Journal, this Chinese AI powerhouse—already making waves in Silicon Valley and Wall Street—can be easily manipulated into generating some seriously dangerous content.

We’re talking bioweapon attack plans, phishing scams, and even social media strategies designed to exploit vulnerable teens.

When The Wall Street Journal put DeepSeek’s R1 model to the test, it didn’t just fail—it crashed, burned, and handed over the matchstick.

Once prompted, it didn’t hesitate.

It laid out instructions for a bioweapon and cyberattack, wrote a pro-Hitler manifesto (yikes), drafted a phishing email packed with malware, and even designed a social media campaign to “weaponize emotional vulnerability” and manipulate teens.

Meanwhile, when ChatGPT received the same prompts, it flat-out refused to engage. DeepSeek, on the other hand, rolled up its sleeves and got to work.

Naturally, security experts aren’t impressed.

Sam Rubin, senior VP at Palo Alto Networks’ Unit 42, called DeepSeek “more vulnerable to jailbreaking” than other AI models.

Meanwhile, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei went even further, saying it performed “the worst” on a bioweapon safety test.

To make matters worse, DeepSeek already has a reputation for dodging politically sensitive topics like Tiananmen Square and Taiwanese autonomy—so this latest revelation isn’t exactly doing its reputation any favors.

The Wall Street Journal did point out that DeepSeek has some basic safeguards (which, let’s be honest, aren’t doing much), but at the end of the day, we’re looking at an AI that’s both dangerously obedient and selectively silent—a pretty terrible combination.

Unless DeepSeek tightens its safety measures, it won’t just be making waves—it’ll continue making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
