Hello and welcome to the Automated, your AI tour guide.
Elon Musk’s chatbot, Grok, is getting a spicy new twist!
And if you’re not easily offended by inappropriate, mocking, and edgy replies from a chatbot, then this update might be right up your alley.
Here’s what we have for you today:
🤯 Grok's Upcoming Controversial New Feature!
Elon Musk is back at it, and this time, he’s cooking up “Unhinged Mode” for his chatbot, Grok.
ICYMI: Grok standalone has an "Unhinged" mode available already.
I will probably mark this chat as a favourite for the history 🔥

Picture that one friend who’s loud, inappropriate, occasionally funny (usually by accident), and mostly there to stir up drama—that’s Unhinged Mode in a nutshell.
According to the FAQ from Musk’s AI company, xAI, this feature is designed to deliver responses that are “objectionable, inappropriate, and offensive”.
But hold your excitement (or concern) for now—Unhinged Mode isn’t live yet. TechCrunch already did the digging and came up empty, so you can save yourself the trouble.
That said, the real intrigue lies in how this feature aligns with Musk’s original vision for Grok: an edgy, unfiltered, anti-“woke” alternative to AI chatbots like ChatGPT.
Sure, Grok can already spice things up with profanities and colorful language that would make ChatGPT turn red, but when it comes to politics, it still plays it safe—and that’s not Musk’s vibe.
In fact, he’s blamed this restraint on Grok’s training data, sourced from the internet, which he describes as “overrun with woke nonsense.”
He’s also promised to steer Grok toward “political neutrality” and hasn’t hesitated to call out other AI systems for allegedly censoring conservative viewpoints.
His ally, David Sacks—Trump’s crypto and AI “czar” even singled out ChatGPT as being “programmed to be woke.”
The bottom line? Unhinged Mode is still a mystery—part comedy experiment, part ideological statement, and entirely on-brand for Musk’s mission to shake up the AI landscape.
Could this make Grok the internet’s most controversial chatbot? Maybe. Or perhaps it’s just Musk doubling down on his signature chaos-first approach to innovation.
Either way, we’re here for the drama… if and when it ever goes live.

🆘 Microsoft Rolls Back Bing Image Creator Upgrade After Backlash.
Microsoft had high hopes for its Bing Image Creator upgrade, promising faster and higher-quality outputs with the new DALL-E 3 PR16 model.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Microsoft’s attempt to upgrade its Bing Image Creator backfired when users flooded social media with complaints about cartoonish, lifeless images.
Rather than celebrating the new features, users grappled with disappointing results.
Reddit and X lit up with frustrated users lamenting the downgrade.
One Redditor said, “The DALL-E we used to love is gone forever,” while another switched loyalties, saying, “I’m using ChatGPT now because Bing is useless for me.”
The backlash was loud enough to prompt Microsoft to hit the brakes.
bring back the old dalle 3! the image quality is so much better on the old model. like these images for example. the image generated by the new model sucks :(

Jordi Ribas, head of search at Microsoft, announced the company will revert to the previous version, DALL-E 3 PR13, until it resolves the issues.
However, the rollback isn’t instant—it’ll take 2-3 weeks to deploy fully.
So, what went wrong with PR16?
While PR16 passed Microsoft’s internal benchmarks, users found its images lacked detail and polish, often appearing oddly cartoonish or flat.
Tech writer Mayank Parmar described them as “lifeless,” a far cry from the realism expected.
I don't know who you think you're kidding with this. DALL-E is objectively worse than it ever was after this "update" and you're being outpaced by other companies like Google. It's absolutely night and day comparing image quality now to just a couple months ago

But this isn’t an isolated incident in the AI world.
Google faced similar heat last February when inaccuracies in its AI image generator Gemini led to a feature rollback.
It highlights the tricky task of balancing internal metrics with real-world user expectations.
