🖥️ Google's Custom Spreadsheet-Generating AI Feature is lite!
Google is rolling out a spreadsheet-generating AI feature!
It’s called Duet AI for Workplace, designed to help you stay organized in Google Sheets.
With this feature, all you need to do is describe what you want to achieve in Google Sheets, and voila!
Sheets will conjure up custom templates faster than a magician pulling rabbits out of hats.
Duet AI for Google Workspace can now help you stay organized in Google Sheets. Just describe what you want to accomplish, and Sheets will generate custom templates to help you get started. Rolling out now in #GoogleWorkspace Labs → goo.gle/3AVHBMB

However, this feature will initially be available only to users of Workspace Labs via 9to5Google.
Google has also recently showcased Duet AI, a suite of generative AI tools aimed at assisting users in tasks such as composing email responses, creating images from text, and proofreading documents across Gmail, Google Slides, and Google Docs.
Google's AI team is clearly on fire.🔥
🤯 The First Major Sanction to come from the use of AI
The first major sanction to come from the use of AI is here!
Remember the lawyer who submitted fake case law from ChatGPT?
Well now, he has to face the consequence of that action.
New York District Judge P. Kevin Castel slapped the lawyer with a fine of $5,000 and he’s also expected to reach out to judges mentioned in the fake cases with information about the situation.
The judge did acknowledge that using AI tools for assistance is not inherently improper; however, the sanction was necessary because the lawyer neglected his responsibilities and persisted in presenting false cases, leading to significant harm.
So, the moral of the story is clear: When it comes to AI, use it responsibly, or you might find yourself in a boatload of trouble!
🤑 Amazon Invests $100 Million in AI Innovation
Amazon has decided to dip its toe into the AI investment pool.
The Company’s cloud unit, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced that it will allocate a whopping $100 million to a center focused on helping companies utilize generative AI.
You might think, "Oh, that's a lot!" but it’s actually a small investment for a company with $64 billion in cash and half a trillion dollars a year in operating expenses.😃
The center, which is really more of a "program" than a physical center is already collaborating with companies such as Highspot, Twilio, RyanAir, and Lonely Planet.
And there are plans to add some data scientists, engineers and solutions architects to the payroll.
While Amazon dominates the cloud infrastructure market, its rivals, Microsoft and Google, have made notable advances in generative AI.
For example, Microsoft has formed a multilayered alliance with OpenAI, while Google has rapidly deployed its in-house AI tools for consumers and businesses.
But AWS CEO Adam Selipsky remains unfazed by this brewing competition.
He's confident that Amazon's customer-centric focus will steer them towards success.
In his words:
AI is going to be this next wave of innovation in the cloud. It’s going to be the next big thing that pushes even more customers to want to be in the cloud. Really, you need the cloud for generative AI
