⚖️ The First Major US Investigation Into OpenAI

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is investigating OpenAI and has sent a 20-page letter requesting information about the company's operation.
The agency wants to know:
How OpenAI vets the information used in training its AI models,
How they prevent false claims from being shown to users,
How APIs connect to its systems
and how data is protected when accessed by third parties.
Why this matter: It is widely known that chatbots, such as ChatGPT, can sometimes provide inaccurate information that may lead to harm.
One notable incident involves a lawyer who faced sanctions for submitting fabricated cases generated by ChatGPT. Additionally, a radio host from Georgia sued the company for producing results that falsely accused him of embezzlement.
Answering the FTC's questions would be a significant move toward establishing a comprehensive regulatory framework for the industry.
💃 Google’s Bard Is Now Available in the EU

Google's Bard chatbot has finally launched in the European Union (EU), offering its services in more than 40 languages.
The EU launch was delayed due to privacy concerns raised by the Irish Data Protection Commission, but it seems that Google has resolved the issues.
The company has also introduced new features to Bard, focused on fine-tuning Bard’s responses and beefing up the chatbot’s potential for productivity.
Users can change the tone and style of Bard’s responses with five different options: “simple,” “long,” “short,” “professional,” or “casual.”
Bard can now vocalize its responses in over 40 languages (the chatbot’s audible responses can be accessed by clicking the new sound icon next to a prompt).
Bard can now export code to more places — specifically Python code to Replit.
Images can be used in prompts.
These features are live, and you can try it now.
