🩺 Amazon Launches AI-powered Healthcare Services.

Amazon has just introduced a cutting-edge healthcare service called "AWS HealthScribe".
This service enables users to generate transcripts, extract vital details, and create summaries from doctor-patient conversations.
Oh, and you don’t have to worry about privacy.
Customer data is not retained after processing requests, nor are the inputs and outputs used to train Amazon's AI models.
However, there is an important aspect to consider: HealthScribe is not compliant with HIPAA (the U.S. law that safeguards personal health information).
But Amazon is offering customers an option to achieve HIPAA compliance by signing a contract known as a “business associate addendum”.
HealthScribe isn’t the only AI-powered healthcare service making its debut on Amazon.
This one aims to facilitate the storage, transformation, and analysis of medical imaging data on a massive scale, reaching petabyte levels.
As of now, AWS HealthImaging is available in multiple AWS regions, including US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Sydney), and Europe (Ireland).
🤝 Tech Giants Unite To Form An Alliance

Four of the most prominent AI players join forces!
OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, and Anthropic have formed a new industry body called “Frontier Model Forum” to ensure the safe and responsible development of frontier AI models.
This collaboration goes beyond merely addressing safety concerns;
It also serves as a proactive measure by leading tech companies to pre-empt impending regulations by engaging in voluntary initiatives
and shaping the formation of the rules that'll govern the industry.
Just last week, President Biden met with seven AI companies at the White House — including the four founding members of the Frontier Model Forum —where these companies made voluntary commitments to enhance safety.
Despite these voluntary efforts, regulatory oversight remains on the horizon.
President Biden has indicated that future regulations for the AI industry are likely to be introduced.
Meanwhile, Europe is already making strides toward implementing the first comprehensive AI rulebook.
The Forum welcomes other companies developing and deploying frontier AI models and is dedicated to ensuring frontier model safety.
For more details, you can find the joint announcement of the Forum's founding members here.
