💃 Gemini 1.5 Pro is Finally Here!

Yesterday, Google held its annual Google Next event, and as expected, we were amazed by what they had in store for us!

For starters, Gemini 1.5 Pro (the latest version of Gemini Pro) is now available to the public for the first time through Vertex AI, its platform for building AI applications and AI Studio.

And with a major update!

This new version of Gemini Pro can now listen to uploaded audio files and provide information from things like earnings calls or audio from videos, all without the need for a written transcript.

But that’s not nearly all!

Gemini 1.5 Pro, which is supposed to be the middle-weight model of the Gemini family, is already faster and even more powerful than Gemini Ultra.

It can understand complex instructions and removes the need to fine-tune models.

In case you don’t know, Gemini Ultra is the largest and most powerful model that powers the Gemini Advanced chatbot.

🖼️ Google releases another image generation tool!

Google is taking another go at AI image generation after they had to take down their image generator built into Gemini some months ago because it was cooking up some pretty bizarre and offensive images.

They're launching another image-generating tool called “Imagen 2” in their Vertex AI developer platform that you can use to:

• Create and edit images with text prompts.

• Generate text, emblems, and logos in multiple languages, which you can overlay in existing images — for example, onto business cards, apparel, and products.

• With the inpainting and outpainting features, you can remove unwanted parts of an image or expand its borders.

However, the most exciting feature is "text-to-live images," which allows you to create short, four-second videos from text prompts.

These live images will come in handy for marketers and creatives as a GIF generator for ads showing nature, food, and animals.

The only downside is that they’re in low resolution for now, unlike other competitors like Runway and OpenAI's Sora, which can generate longer clips in much higher resolutions.

But we can expect Google to up their game soon.🤞

In the meantime, you’d be happy to know that Google has added invisible, cryptographic watermarks to its live images that cannot be edited out.
