Hello and welcome to the Automated, your AI tour guide.

Google and Microsoft have just rolled out some game-changing, wow-worthy deals for you.

They're offering some of their AI tools for free, hoping to get you hooked. While it's not exactly "free" in the way you might expect, you're definitely getting more for less!

Here’s what we have for you today:

  • 💃 Google Brings AI Magic to Workspace for Free!

  • 💵 Microsoft Relaunches Free AI Chat for Businesses with Pay-as-You-Go Agents.

  • 🖥️ How AI will shape work in 2025 — and what companies should do now.

  • 🤖 ChatGPT Prompt Of The Day: Overcome writer's block.

💃 Google Brings AI Magic to Workspace for Free!

Remember that $20-per-user-per-month fee for all those cool AI features like email summaries, auto-generated spreadsheets, meeting notes, and the powerful Gemini bot? Well, it’s officially gone.

Now, all that AI goodness in Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Meet, and more is included in every plan for free!

Sounds too good to be true, right?

Well, here’s the catch: Workspace plan prices are going up by about $2 per user per month (that's from $12 to $14).

So technically, it’s “free,” since the $20 Gemini Business Standard add-on is gone—but you’ll still be paying a little more for the subscription. Basically, It’s like getting a free lunch with a small tip added to the bill.

Still, there's plenty to love.

The AI toolkit is stacked. We're talking NotebookLM Plus, the advanced Gemini bot which is Google's crown jewel. And it’s not just a chatbot; it’s a full-on assistant that can help you research, organize your files, and basically make you look like you've got it all together.

According to Jerry Dischler, Google’s cloud apps boss, companies have often hesitated to dive into AI because of the cost. But with this move, Google’s saying, “Here’s your AI fix!”

Plus, Google’s leaning hard into its all-in-one integration game, which, let’s be honest, feels pretty convenient if you’re already deep into the Google ecosystem.

So starting now, new Google Workspace customers will face the updated pricing, while existing users get a grace period until March 17, 2025.

As for Small businesses? They’re off the hook—for now.

And if you’ve already paid for the Gemini AI add-on, don’t worry—you’ll keep all the features, and you won’t see another charge after January 31!

Oh, and guess what? Google’s not the only one making moves like this.

Microsoft recently bundled its Copilot AI tools into some Microsoft 365 plans at no extra charge. Clearly, the big players are betting that giving you all these AI perks now will pay off later.

In fact, it’s less about squeezing extra cash out of you and more about getting you hooked on their AI ecosystem. They’re convinced that once you’ve experienced AI-powered productivity, you won’t want to go back.

They’ve even earned a range of security certifications, including SOC 1/2/3 and ISO, to position their AI tools as enterprise-ready.

The Bottom line: Your Workspace bill might go up a bit, but in return, you’re getting some serious AI firepower.

So folks! Welcome to the AI office wars, where every tech giant is competing to out-wow you while sneaking a few extra bucks onto the tab.

💵 Microsoft Relaunches Free AI Chat for Businesses with Pay-as-You-Go Agents.

Microsoft is shaking up the workplace AI game with the relaunch of its free Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat, a rebranded version of Bing Chat Enterprise.

With exciting new features like customizable AI agents and flexible payment options, Microsoft hopes to tempt businesses into embracing its AI ecosystem—and maybe even shelling out for its premium $30/month Copilot subscription.

Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat isn’t just a rebrand—it’s a bold step toward making AI a daily tool at work.

At its core, Copilot Chat offers secure, GPT-powered AI that can tackle tasks like summarizing documents, analyzing Excel data, and answering questions using uploaded files.

Think of it as your new virtual colleague without needing coffee breaks!

But here’s the twist: the free version now includes access to Copilot AI agents, a feature previously exclusive to the premium Copilot subscription.

These agents can streamline workflows by monitoring email inboxes, automating tasks, and pulling data from Microsoft’s Graph to provide answers grounded in your organization’s resources.

The pricing model is where things get interesting—and a little complex.

Businesses can choose between pay-as-you-go or pre-paid consumption packs. AI agent usage is measured in ”messages which is equivalent to 1 cent,” with costs varying depending on the complexity of the request:

  • 1 cent for simple answers.

  • 2 cents for generative responses.

  • 30 cents for tasks requiring Microsoft Graph data.

For example, an HR-focused agent handling 200 generative answers and 200 tenant Graph queries daily would rack up a bill of $64.

Microsoft’s Azure meter system ensures transparency, letting businesses monitor and control their spending.

The first question people ask is, ‘Am I writing a blank check?’” says Jared Spataro, Microsoft’s Chief Marketing Officer for AI at Work. “We’ve built controls to ensure you’re only paying for what you use.

Beyond the cost, the AI capabilities are a game-changer.

You can upload files to Copilot Chat for instant analysis or use agents to dive deep into organizational data.

Businesses upgrading to the full Microsoft 365 Copilot can integrate these tools directly into Word, Excel, and other Office apps, eliminating manual uploads.

Microsoft hopes Copilot Chat will be the perfect gateway drug for businesses that are still hesitant about adopting AI.

According to Spataro, users quickly become accustomed to the productivity boost, making them more likely to invest in premium features.
