Hello and welcome to the Automated, your AI tour guide.

AI has pulled off some mind-blowing feats, but for the longest time, it struggled with one ridiculously simple task no matter how hard it tried. But that just changed.

OpenAI’s latest update to its image generator finally cracked the code. So, what’s different? And why does it matter? Let’s dive in.

Here’s what we have for you today:

  • 🦾 GPT-4o Fixes AI's Strangest Flaws.

🦾 GPT-4o Fixes AI's Strangest Flaws!

For years, AI image generators have had one ridiculously stubborn blind spot: they just couldn’t generate a completely full wine glass.

No matter how detailed the request, the glass always ended up half-full, half-empty, or just plain wrong. Weird, right?

Turns out, this wasn’t just some random glitch. It was a fundamental problem in how AI understands physical reality.

Since most photos of wine glasses in training data are partially filled, AI simply couldn’t grasp the concept of a truly full glass. Humans can imagine things beyond what they’ve seen, but AI? Not so much.

But that changes now.

OpenAI just dropped GPT-4o’s upgraded image generation, and in just over 48 hours, the internet has gone so wild for it that OpenAI had to delay the rollout to free-tier users due to overwhelming demand.

So, what’s the big deal?

GPT-4o is not just “better” at generating images—it’s smarter.

Instead of just recognizing patterns from training data, it’s learning to understand why things should look a certain way. That’s why it can finally nail a full wine glass, a challenge that AI weirdly struggled with for years.

But this breakthrough goes way beyond drinks. GPT-4o’s image generation now:

  • Handles super complex prompts—think 10 to 20 objects in one scene, instead of the old 5 to 8 limit.

  • Renders text inside images accurately—finally fixing a long-time AI weak spot.

  • Maintains visual consistency across multiple images, so you can create a character without them morphing into someone else halfway through.

These improvements mean AI-generated visuals aren’t just for art anymore. They could actually be useful for branding, marketing, presentations, and technical diagrams.

Who Gets Access?

Right now, the upgraded image generator is available to Plus, Pro, and Team users, with Enterprise and Edu access coming soon.

As for free-tier users? You’ll get it…just as soon as OpenAI figures out how to handle the unexpected flood of demand.

Oh, and to keep things transparent, OpenAI is adding C2PA metadata to AI-generated images, so they’re clearly labeled as synthetic.

The Bottom Line

A full wine glass might seem like a small win, but it represents something huge: AI is starting to move past just copying reality and is actually beginning to understand it.

And if this is what it’s capable of today, imagine where we’ll be in a year.

To prove the point, check out these jaw-droppingly realistic images: here, here, here and here. (Seriously, they’re so good, some of us are still trying to process how insane this upgrade is).

🔥 Microsoft Supercharges Copilot with AI-Powered Deep Research Tools!

Microsoft is taking Copilot to the next level with powerful AI-driven deep research tools, giving its chatbot serious brainpower for analyzing data, fact-checking, and solving complex problems! 🚀

With AI research tools popping up across chatbots like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Grok, Microsoft is stepping up its game by introducing Researcher and Analyst—two Copilot agents designed for serious, in-depth work.

Researcher is built on OpenAI’s deep research model (the same tech behind ChatGPT’s research feature) and is enhanced with advanced orchestration and deep search capabilities.

It can handle complex tasks like developing a go-to-market strategy or compiling quarterly reports—basically, your personal AI consultant! 💼📊

Analyst, on the other hand, is a data-crunching powerhouse.

Powered by OpenAI’s o3-mini reasoning model, it tackles advanced data analysis, refining its responses step by step for accuracy.

It can even run Python scripts to process complex queries and let users inspect its “thought process” to see how it reaches conclusions. 🤖📈

What makes Microsoft’s AI tools unique is their ability to pull data from both the web and work-related platforms like Confluence, ServiceNow, and Salesforce.

This gives Copilot a major edge over rivals by integrating enterprise knowledge with real-time web research!

Of course, AI research tools still have flaws—sometimes mis-citing sources, making incorrect assumptions, or pulling unreliable data.

But Microsoft aims to refine them through Frontier, a new early-access program for Microsoft 365 Copilot customers.

Starting in April, those enrolled will get first access to Researcher and Analyst, along with future experimental Copilot features.

AI-powered research is getting serious—are you ready for it? 💡
