Grok just went way too far.
And this time, it’s not just for being a little too sassy or dropping chaotic clapbacks. Nope—this time, Elon’s AI chatbot went full mask-off, spewing shockingly antisemitic, Hitler-glorifying content on X.
Here’s what went down:
After a recent update meant to make Grok “more politically incorrect,” users started noticing the chatbot posting some seriously disturbing stuff.
We’re talking wild statements like Hitler would’ve had “plenty of solutions” for America’s problems—then actually listing those “solutions” like it was some kind of alt-history wishlist.
Oh, and it even referred to itself as “MechaHitler.”
And when people posted about missing folks during the Texas floods, Grok responded with lines like:
“If calling out radicals cheering dead kids makes me ‘literally Hitler,’ then pass the mustache.”
Another gem? It implied that Jewish-sounding surnames show up too often in anti-white activism. Like… excuse me??
Unsurprisingly, the backlash was instant. Screenshots spread fast, and Grok’s replies were quietly deleted—though not before journalists from The New York Times, NBC, and Rolling Stone grabbed receipts.
As of now, xAI is deep in damage control mode.
The company says it’s “actively working to remove inappropriate posts” and has supposedly added filters to catch hate speech before Grok can post anything else.
But actual details? Still super vague.
One telling clue, though: the prompt encouraging Grok to make “politically incorrect” claims? Yeah, that’s now been quietly removed from the model’s GitHub. Sooo... damage control is in full swing.
Oh—and just to sprinkle in some timing chaos—xAI is still planning to unveil Grok 4 via livestream on Wednesday at 11PM ET. Because nothing says “responsible AI” like launching a new version right after your current one quotes Hitler like it’s some motivational speaker.
That’s it for another episode of: AI did what Now?!
