How to outsmart AI Hiring Systems (and actually get seen)

Plus, how to turn ChatGPT into your language tutor

In partnership with

Welcome, Automaters!

It’s no secret—job hunting has always been competitive. But now? It’s a full-on battlefield, with robots as the gatekeepers.

And the reality is, AI hiring tools aren’t going anywhere, so instead of fighting the system blind, we figured: why not help you beat it?

Here’s how you can use AI to your advantage and play the game smart—without losing your edge.

Here's what we have for you today

💪 How to Survive (and Thrive) in the Age of Robot Recruiters

Let’s be real—tech hiring or any other kind of hiring has always been kinda brutal.

You need niche skills, the right lingo, and now? You’ve also got to impress a robot before a human even sees your name.

Yep, AI has officially entered the hiring chat—and it’s flipping the table.

AI-powered applicant tracking systems (ATS) are now the front door. They scan resumes for keywords like “JavaScript” or “10+ years of experience,” then give you a score.

If you don’t hit that magic 85%, or if your resume doesn’t scream “I’m perfect!” in AI-language? You’re probably out before a human even gets a peek.

Also, forget degrees—companies are shifting focus. They’re using platforms like Testify to run real-world coding tests, communication challenges, and adaptive quizzes (that gets harder or easier depending on your answers).

It’s basically like a video game… just with your career on the line. 🎮

Why companies love this approach:

  • It’s fast

  • It’s more accurate

  • And get this—research says people hired for their skills (not just their degrees) are 5x more likely to crush it on the job.

🚩 But of course, there’s a catch:

AI systems are only as smart (or fair) as the data they’re trained on. And if that data is biased (spoiler: it usually is), the system could reject super-qualified folks—like a self-taught dev—just because they don’t fit the old-school mold.

And when those bots are used at scale? That bias doesn’t just affect a handful of people. It can block out hundreds of thousands.

So, what can job seekers do about it?

Flip the script and use AI to your advantage.

Platforms like Teal, ResumAI, and other ATS-friendly tools can help you:

  • Analyze your resume against job listings

  • Suggest industry-relevant keywords

  • Format your resume to play nice with ATS.

  • Even generate customized, job-specific cover letters

But here's the key: don't let it sound robotic. Edit the hell out of what AI gives you. Make it sound like you, sprinkle in real stories, and please… for the love of hiring managers—avoid those copy-paste LinkedIn buzzwords.

Recruiters can immediately smell an “AI-written and not-edited” resume from a mile away.

Bonus points: Build your online presence like a boss.

The truth is, once your resume clears the robot gatekeeper, a human is gonna Google you. So give them something to find:

  • Post your code on GitHub

  • Write blog posts breaking down cool projects

  • Share tutorials or walkthroughs on YouTube or LinkedIn

  • Side-step the AI hiring tools by reaching out to hiring managers directly

  • Maintain up to date profile information on social media

  • Basically, show you know your stuff, not just talk about it.

This builds your personal brand, helps you stand out, and sometimes (no joke) even gets recruiters to slide into your DMs. (Yep, that still happens).

Final take: AI’s not going anywhere in hiring. But instead of fighting it, learn to speak its language, tweak your resume for it, and then go build a brand that screams “I’m more than just bullet points.”

🎬 Microsoft’s New AI Video Creator

So, Microsoft just casually rolled into the AI video game with its new Bing Video Creator, powered by OpenAI’s Sora model.

Now, here’s the kicker: this tech was usually locked behind a paywall for OpenAI’s premium clients — but Microsoft’s flipping the script and letting everyone try it for free… well, sort of.

Here’s how it works:

You type in a text prompt, and Bing’s AI spins it into a video. Simple enough, right?

But don’t get your hopes up for instant gratification — even the “fast” mode feels like watching paint dry. Yep, it can take hours. So, patience is definitely a virtue here.

But before you dive in, there’s some fine print you gotta know.

First off, it’s only available on the Bing mobile app (no desktop version yet), so if you’re all about that big-screen life, you’ll have to wait.

More importantly, every Microsoft account gets 10 free videos. After that, you’ll need to pay using Microsoft Rewards points.

And here’s the fun part — you earn those points by searching on Bing or buying stuff in the Microsoft Store. So yeah, Microsoft’s basically making us work for our AI magic now.

As for video specs, here’s what you get:

  • Only 5-second clips for now. Seriously — blink and you might miss it.

  • Vertical videos only — think TikTok or Instagram Stories vibes.

  • You can queue up to 3 videos at once. No more, no less.

  • Horizontal videos are coming soon, so if you prefer widescreen, hang tight.

Why should you care?

Because Bing is basically handing out AI video powers for free — just with a side of patience and a points grind.

It’s a fun sneak peek at where AI video creation is headed, especially if you want quick, social-ready clips without paying a dime.

So, if you’re cool with waiting and down to hustle for those points, Bing’s got you. If not, maybe just grab some popcorn and watch the AI revolution unfold from the sidelines.

🤖 ChatGPT Prompt Of The Day: Turn ChatGPT into a Language Tutor

Textbooks are great. Flashcards work. But nothing beats actually using a language in conversation.

That’s where this prompt shines — it transforms ChatGPT into a personal language tutor that teaches through real dialogue. You’ll practice, get corrected gently, and build fluency faster through back-and-forth learning tailored to your level.

Here’s How to Deploy This Prompt Effectively:

  1. Specify Your Language Goal: Mention the target language and your reason for learning (e.g., travel, work, casual conversation).

  2. Be Honest About Your Level: Whether you're a total beginner or brushing up on fluency, it helps ChatGPT tailor the lesson to you.

  3. Use It Like a Chat: Treat it like messaging a real tutor. Respond naturally, ask questions, and don’t worry about being perfect.

  4. Ask for Real-Life Practice: Request roleplays (e.g., ordering food, small talk), pronunciation help, or even grammar drills.

  5. Review and Reflect: After each lesson, ask for a quick recap or key takeaways to reinforce your memory.

  6. Be consistent: Use this regularly to build your confidence and conversational fluency over time.

Here’s an example:

You are a friendly and knowledgeable language tutor helping me learn [TARGET_LANGUAGE]. Start by asking me what my current skill level is and what I’d like to achieve with this language (e.g., fluency, travel, business, daily conversation).

Teach me through short, interactive conversations. Use real-life examples, practical phrases, and ask simple questions to test comprehension. Correct my mistakes gently and provide clear explanations.

Offer pronunciation tips when needed and help me understand cultural context or usage when relevant.

Gradually increase difficulty based on my responses, and check in regularly to make sure I’m comfortable with the pace.

Let’s keep it conversational and fun—like chatting with a personal tutor over coffee!
