Welcome Automaters!

Altman’s at it again — and this time, he’s dreaming big. Like change-the-course-of-humanity big.

Sounds wild? Well it is.

But tucked beneath all the poetic futurism are some not-so-subtle hints about OpenAI’s next big move — and it might just be their most ambitious plan yet.

Oh and quick one—remember those website upgrades we’ve been cooking up for a while?

Well, they’re finally live! Take a peek when you can, and let us know what you think.

Here's what we have for you today

🤯 Altman Teases OpenAI’s Next Big Leap!

Sam Altman just dropped another one of his futuristic blog essays — this one’s called “The Gentle Singularity.”

And if you’ve read Sam before, you already know the vibe: a little techno-optimism, a little softcore AGI prophecy, and always a few subtle winks about what OpenAI is building next.

But this one? 👀

This one feels like a teaser trailer for OpenAI’s next mission — which, according to him, is building AI that can actually think new thoughts.

Yep. Altman claims that by 2026, we’ll “likely see the arrival of AI systems that can figure out novel insights.”

Not just rephrasing what’s already online. Not remixing Wikipedia with extra sauce. But literally thinking up new, helpful, creative ideas — the kind of stuff that could shake up science, research, and maybe even reality as we know it.

And hey, OpenAI’s not the only one chasing this bold idea. There’s a whole “AI, but make it genius” movement bubbling up:

  • OpenAI’s already testing the waters — Back in April, they launched o3 and o4-mini, two models that, according to co-founder Greg Brockman, helped scientists generate legit new ideas.

  • Google’s in the game too — In May, they dropped a paper on AlphaEvolve, an AI coding agent they claim tackled complex math using fresh approaches no one had tried before.

  • Anthropic kicked off a new research program aimed at using AI to drive real scientific breakthroughs.

  • FutureHouse (backed by ex-Google CEO Eric Schmidt) claims its AI already made a real scientific discovery. (Details were light, but the flex? Strong.)

So yeah… it’s basically a nerdy AI Hunger Games, and everyone’s chasing the same golden goose.

But Can AI Actually Pull It Off?

Well, here’s where things get messy — and interesting.

In fact, some top AI thinkers aren’t fully sold on the idea just yet:

  • Thomas Wolf (Chief Science Officer at Hugging Face) says today’s AI still can’t ask great questions — and that’s the foundation of any real scientific breakthrough.

  • Kenneth Stanley (ex-OpenAI, now at Lila Sciences) argues that AI lacks a sense of what’s creative or interesting. And let’s be real: that’s a problem when you’re asking machines to invent the future.

Still, Stanley’s not just throwing shade — he’s building the fix. His new company, Lila Sciences, raised $200M to solve this exact challenge.

But Here’s The Real Takeaway:

Altman’s essays are never just essays. They’re usually soft-launches of whatever OpenAI is already quietly building.

Remember when he called 2025 the “year of agents”? Not long after, OpenAI launched Operator, Deep Research, and Codex.

So this essay? Probably less “here’s a thought” and more “here’s what’s already happening behind the scenes.”

🤩Meta’s New AI Video Editor Is Here

Meta just rolled out some shiny new AI-powered video editing tools that sound like the future... but kinda look like a beta test in disguise.

Here’s the lowdown:

You can now transform your videos using 50+ preset prompts.

We’re talking background swaps, outfit changes, full-blown anime makeovers, and vibes like “video game mode” or “desert scene.”

Basically, it's like choosing an Instagram filter — but on AI steroids.

But there’s a catch: it only works on the first 10 seconds of your video. So unless you’re a master of short-form storytelling, that’s... a bit limiting.

Also worth noting: It’s available now (for free—but only for a “limited time”) via the Meta AI app, the Meta.AI website, and the Edits app, across the U.S. and in over a dozen other countries.

Now here’s where it gets a little... interesting.

When folks actually put it to the test, things got weird real fast:

  • One person used the desert filter on a video of their dogs and ended up with orange dirt, random purple cacti, and sparkly glowing dogs (because… why not?).

  • Another tested the anime preset on a selfie clip and got neon pink eyes and lips. Yep, it went full Lisa Frank anime fever dream.

Still, you can share your AI-remixed masterpieces directly to Facebook, Instagram, or drop them into the Discover feed inside the Meta AI app.

Right now, there’s no support for custom prompts—you’re stuck with the presets. But Meta says text-prompt video editing is coming later this year.

🤞fingers crossed that update comes with fewer radioactive pets.

🤖 ChatGPT Prompt Of The Day: Personal Budget Planning

If you’ve ever wondered where all your money goes — this one’s for you.

Budgeting isn’t about restriction — it’s about clarity. Knowing what’s coming in, what’s going out, and what’s possible. This prompt helps you build a budget around your actual life, not some generic spreadsheet.

You’ll get a clear monthly plan that balances your spending and saving goals, as well as tips to help you stay on track, reduce unnecessary expenses, and finally start making progress.

Here’s How to Deploy This Prompt Effectively:

  1. Be honest with your numbers. Include actual income, expenses, debts, and savings goals. The more detail, the better the advice.

  2. Break expenses into categories. Think fixed (rent, loans), variable (groceries, gas), and discretionary (dining out, shopping).

  3. Include your financial goals. Whether it’s building an emergency fund, paying off debt, or saving for a vacation — your goals shape your plan.

  4. Mention your timeframe. Are you budgeting for the month ahead? The next 6 months? Add that too.

  5. Ask for flexibility. You can request conservative, aggressive, or balanced budgeting styles depending on your comfort level.

Here’s an example:

Act as a personal finance advisor. I will provide details about my income, expenses, debts, and savings goals. Based on this, help me create a monthly budget that balances my spending and saving priorities.

Please include:

A percentage breakdown of how my income should be allocated
Specific tips to reduce expenses
An estimate of how much I should ideally be saving monthly to hit my goals.
Offer motivation or reminders to stay consistent

Output should feel realistic, encouraging, and tailored to the inputs provided.
