🤩 LinkedIn's New AI Push!

LinkedIn is now spicing things up with AI-powered career advice and fun games to keep you coming back.

Why?

To boost user visits, especially since LinkedIn's audience is less frequent compared to platforms like Facebook and TikTok.

And with revenue growth slowing, they need a fresh strategy!

According to data from analytics firm Similarweb, site visits hit 1.8 billion in June, which is great, but the growth has slowed down a bit since the beginning of the year.

In fact, in June, the year-over-year site visit growth was only 5%, which is less than half of what it was in 2021 and 2022.

Kelsey Chickering, a media analyst at Forrester, thinks LinkedIn needs to become "stickier" to keep growing.

Basically, they need to offer more than just job postings to hold users' attention and time, and that may already be happening.

LinkedIn is no longer just about professional networking; it's evolving into a place for consumer engagement as well.

Big names like Amazon and Nike are using the platform to connect with high-value consumers, especially Gen Z, who are big on shopping via social media.

So, next time you’re on LinkedIn, you might find more than just job postings – you might find your new favorite brand, career tips, or even some fun games!

👩‍⚖️ OpenAI Has One Less Lawsuit To Worry About!

Remember that copyright lawsuit against OpenAI, Microsoft, and GitHub over their AI tool, Copilot?

The one where open-source programmers claimed their code was used without proper credit?

Well, it seems like OpenAI has managed to dodge the entire lawsuit, as the programmers have voluntarily dropped the case against them!

The programmers initially brought 22 claims against the trio, but then most of them were dismissed except for two.

And now OpenAI has managed to free itself completely!

But there's a twist while OpenAI is in the clear, the programmers are still going after GitHub and Microsoft, which worked with OpenAI on Copilot.

As for why the case was dropped against OpenAI, no one really knows for sure!

Maybe the programmers realized they were fighting an uphill battle, or perhaps OpenAI's legal team is simply that good.🤷‍♀️

Either way, OpenAI can breathe a sigh of relief for now, but Microsoft and GitHub still have a legal battle on their hands.

Will they also see the case dropped or dismissed? Only time will tell.
