Welcome Automaters, 👋
OpenAI just announced a brand-new $100/month ChatGPT Pro plan, and honestly? It was only a matter of time.
For a while, ChatGPT heavy users had two real choices: the $20/month Plus plan (pretty solid, nothing crazy) or the heavy-duty $200/month Pro plan (powerful, but ouch on the wallet). Now there's a shiny new middle option sitting right at $100/month, and it is built almost entirely around Codex, OpenAI's AI coding tool that basically writes code for you while you sip your coffee.
Here's the juicy part: the new plan gives you five times (5x) more Codex usage than the Plus plan. And as a launch celebration bonus, subscribers get a temporary 10x boost on Codex usage, running through May 31, 2026. That's a lot of free code, people.
If you’ve been waiting to build that "side project" that’s actually a full-scale app; this is your window. Because ultimately, it’s specifically built for "longer, high-effort sessions" where a few prompts aren't enough to get the job done.
So why now?
Well, over 3 million people use Codex every week, a number that has grown by five times in just three months, with usage climbing over 70% month-on-month. OpenAI saw the numbers and said, "Yeah, we need a plan for this crowd."
Essentially, they realized there was a massive gap for "power developers" who outgrew Plus but couldn't quite justify the $200 price tag.
Oh, and here's the not-so-subtle competitive play: Anthropic has offered a $100/month Claude plan for a while. OpenAI openly told TechCrunch this new tier is a direct challenge to that. So yes, the AI pricing wars just entered a new, much more specific round, and don't we all love it when we're at an advantage??

📈 Meta’s AI Jumped 52 Spots On The App Store In One Night

In case you were wondering how Meta's shiny new AI model is doing out in the wild... the numbers just came in, and they are absolutely unhinged.
Okay, picture this: you go to sleep, and when you wake up, your class ranking has jumped from 57th place all the way to 5th. That’s basically what happened to Meta's AI app on April 8th, and the reason is a brand-new AI model called Muse Spark.
Muse Spark is the very first model to come out of Meta’s Superintelligence Labs, a brand new AI unit that Meta built from scratch after CEO Mark Zuckerberg grew frustrated that Meta's older AI models were falling behind rivals like ChatGPT.
To fix it, Meta did what any tech giant does when it wants to get serious: it hired a big name. That name is Alexandr Wang, the former CEO of Scale AI, who quietly built this model over the past nine months under the internal code-name "Avocado."
So, What Can It Actually Do?
The good news is that Muse Spark is genuinely capable. It handles voice, text, and images all at once; but the real magic is in the "subagents." But that’s not all, it also:
Build playable games from a simple text prompt.
Tackles tricky equations or understands complex medical charts.
It can launch multiple AI subagents to solve complicated tasks simultaneously
It can help you shop.
You can snap a photo of a snack shelf, and it will rank the snacks by protein content using data from Instagram, Facebook, and Threads.
The app also features a fresh look with two distinct speeds: an "Instant" mode for quick hits and a "Thinking" mode for deep dives. Meta even plans to launch an even more powerful "Contemplating" mode in the future.
Now Here’s The Numbers That Made Everyone do a Double-Take:
According to Sensor Tower, Meta AI pulled in around 46,000 U.S. iOS downloads on April 8th alone, which was an 87% jump compared to the day before. Android growth was a more modest 3% on the same day, but the iOS numbers more than made up for it.
Outside the apps entirely, Sensor Tower's data showed that daily web visitors to Meta AI in the U.S. shot up by more than 450% in a single day, hitting an all-time high on April 8th. And compared to the average of the previous 30 days, that daily web traffic number was up by a jaw-dropping 570%.
Zoom out even further, and the global picture is just as wild. Meta AI has now been downloaded 60.5 million times worldwide across the App Store and Google Play combined, with 25 million of those downloads happening just this year. Over the past five months, downloads have grown by 138% compared to the same period when the app first launched.
And yes, India currently leads all countries for Meta AI downloads, followed by the U.S., Brazil, Pakistan, and Mexico.
Is It The Best AI Out There? 🤔
Honestly? Not quite yet. A Meta executive openly told Axios that while Muse Spark is competitive (especially in multimodal understanding and health); it is not yet the new "state of the art."
The Reality Check:
Meta acknowledges there is still a gap compared to top-tier coding models. Points for honesty, Meta.
Despite the jump to No. 5, it still trails ChatGPT (No. 1), Claude (No. 2), and Gemini (No. 3) on the App Store.
Alexandr Wang himself acknowledged the new ranking on X, cheering that the app is "still growing." And if these numbers are any indication, the "Avocado" is just getting started.
You should go take a look and see what the buzz is all about!
AI Agents Are Reading Your Docs. Are You Ready?
Last month, 48% of visitors to documentation sites across Mintlify were AI agents—not humans.
Claude Code, Cursor, and other coding agents are becoming the actual customers reading your docs. And they read everything.
This changes what good documentation means. Humans skim and forgive gaps. Agents methodically check every endpoint, read every guide, and compare you against alternatives with zero fatigue.
Your docs aren't just helping users anymore—they're your product's first interview with the machines deciding whether to recommend you.
That means:
→ Clear schema markup so agents can parse your content
→ Real benchmarks, not marketing fluff
→ Open endpoints agents can actually test
→ Honest comparisons that emphasize strengths without hype
In the agentic world, documentation becomes 10x more important. Companies that make their products machine-understandable will win distribution through AI.
