 🤯 Microsoft Exits OpenAI Board!

Microsoft has decided to step down from its non-voting observer seat on OpenAI’s board!

If you remember, they took the seat after Sam Altman's firing and rehiring last year and a major reshuffling of the board.

But now, Microsoft says it’s seen enough progress at OpenAI and is confident in its direction.

Even though they are stepping down, Microsoft still owns a hefty 49% of OpenAI due to their massive $13 billion investment.

And that kind of large investment has been under scrutiny by US and EU anti-trust regulators for some time now as it may give Big Tech companies excessive control over other corporations.

So, is this a calculated move to keep regulators off its back or simply a coincidence?🤔

Whatever the case, OpenAI has made it clear that there won’t be any more observers on the board, ending speculation that Apple would take a similar position.

🤩 Prompt Engineering Made Easy with Anthropic’s Latest Tools!

You’ll agree that one of the hardest parts of using an AI model is figuring out how to prompt it effectively.

This challenge has given birth to a new profession called prompt engineering, but do we all need to become professional prompt engineers to make use of these AI models?

Well, that's where Anthropic is now stepping in!

They’re now developing tools to make it easier to at least automate part of the prompting process!

With Claude 3.5 Sonnet, developers can now easily generate, test, and refine prompts to achieve better responses for specific tasks, ultimately enhancing their applications.

And because small tweaks in prompt wording can make a huge difference in results, Anthropic also introduced a new tool that provides instant feedback, eliminating the need for constant guesswork or the involvement of prompt engineers.

These game-changing features are conveniently accessible through Anthropic Console's new Evaluate tab!

What's even more impressive is that within the Evaluate tab, developers have the opportunity to assess prompt effectiveness across diverse scenarios by uploading real-world examples or generating test cases with Claude.

Furthermore, they can directly compare prompts side by side and rate responses on a five-point scale, facilitating thorough evaluation. See an example of this in action here.

Oh and just so you know, this is not Anthropic’s first attempt at trying to make prompting easier.

They had previously introduced the prompt generator feature that utilizes their own techniques to create detailed prompts from concise task descriptions.

While these innovative tools may not entirely replace prompt engineers, they undoubtedly simplify the process for both beginners and experts.
