🤩 New Features Coming to Gemini Users!

Gemini's ability to generate images of people is making a comeback!

If you remember, in February, Google paused the feature due to complaints about historical inaccuracies and racial stereotypes.

And at that time, they said a fix should arrive “in very short order”—within the next couple of weeks—but it took much longer than that.

Now, after months of work, the feature is back with some much-needed improvements.

Google says that Imagen 3, the latest image-generating model built into Gemini, contains mitigations to make the people images Gemini produces more “fair” and diverse.

The new model was also trained with AI-generated captions, and its training data was filtered to address past issues.

Hopefully, this means we won’t see any more AI mishaps🤞

But there’s a catch — The feature is now only for select users!

Only those signed to any of Google’s paid Gemini plans, Gemini Advanced, Business, or Enterprise, will get the people-generating feature back as part of an early access, English-language-only test.

And as for when the test will expand to the free Gemini tier and other languages, Google didn’t say.

However, all Gemini users can look forward to getting Imagen 3 within the week, and according to Google, it’s a lot better than its predecessor, Imagen 2.

Plus, Gems for Gemini is rolling out soon. With Gems, you can create a team of experts to help you with a challenging project, brainstorm ideas for an upcoming event, or write the perfect caption for a social media post.

👏 Midjourney Expands into Hardware!

Midjourney, the AI image-generating platform that's been making waves with its staggering revenue of over $200 million (all without VC investment, mind you!), is diving into hardware!

The company has just announced the formation of a new hardware team, and let me tell you, it's not just any team.

It's led by heavy hitters like Ahmad Abbas, a former member of Neuralink — yes, that Neuralink - Elon Musk's neurotech company.

What's even more fascinating is that Abbas was part of the team that created Apple's revolutionary mixed-reality headset, the Apple Vision Pro.

And if that's not enough, Midjourney's CEO, David Holz, has a hardware background, too.

He co-founded Leap Motion, which developed those super-cool motion-tracking peripherals that let you control your computer with gestures.

With such powerhouses at the helm, they couldn't do so badly, right? Well, we'll have to wait and see.

Midjourney didn’t give specific details on the kind of hardware, but it's likely related to their AI video and 3D generation efforts.

Maybe we'll see some innovative new devices that let us interact with AI-generated worlds in entirely new ways.

Whatever it is, it's bound to be exciting - and a testament to Midjourney's commitment to pushing the boundaries of what's possible with AI.

Oh and just so you know Midjourney’s hiring too!
