😮 OpenAI Fired CEO Sam Altman

On Friday, OpenAI announced that Sam Altman had been fired.
This decision came as a surprise to Altman, but he since posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he loved his time at OpenAI.
Following this, a lot of OpenAI employees reposted his message with a heart emoji, which was meant to signal to the board that they would leave OpenAI to follow Altman to a new company.
In a show of solidarity, Greg Brockman, co-founder and president, also stepped down as chairman. He posted on X that he had quit "based on today's news."
However, a sudden twist occurred when OpenAI's board began discussions with Sam Altman about bringing him back as CEO just one day after he had been fired.
There was a big condition attached to his return: "The existing board that had fired him must step down!”.
The board was given a deadline to comply before 5 pm on Saturday, but they didn't comply.
But then, the deadline was shifted to Sunday night. The board later agreed to step down, but they didn’t really officially do so.
Here's the shocker: Sam Altman went on to join Microsoft to lead its new in-house artificial intelligence team.
😱 Microsoft Might Have Opened Pandora's Box!

Microsoft grabs the headlines again!
Microsoft has recently released a new tool called "Azure AI Speech", a text-to-speech tool that's causing a stir, and not necessarily in a good way.
The feature enables users to create AI avatars that can read out scripts that are fed to them. The aim is to help others build and power up conversational agents, virtual assistants, and chatbots.
At first glance, this may seem harmless, but there's a catch. The tool allows users to mimic or replicate anyone's voice and appearance.
Critics are calling it a "deepfakes creator."
Microsoft says they've taken serious steps to implement safeguards to protect against that. They have made it a "limited access" feature, which means that users must apply and be approved by Microsoft to use it.
Additionally, users must disclose the use of AI when creating an avatar.
The question that arises here is whether these safeguards will be enough to prevent misuse or has Microsoft opened a Pandora's box? Only time will tell, but let's hope for the best outcome! 🤞
