🤯 Google's New Policy Allows Unrestricted Data Scraping!

The new policy explicitly states that the company reserves the right to scrape just about everything you post online to build its AI tools.

Yep, you heard that right!

It’s not just data on Google’s own services that are up for grabs, but also data across the entire public web. 🤯

And of course, this doesn’t sit well. 😡

Many have raised copyright concerns as Google’s AI systems could use their online content in ways they never even dreamed of.

Platforms like Twitter and Reddit have already made changes to protect their intellectual property and limit data scraping.

But unfortunately, it’s had other consequences. (Find out here).

You should read the new policy — it's bound to blow your mind. 🤯

⚖️ OpenAI Hit with $3 Billion Lawsuit!

OpenAI Inc. is facing a class action lawsuit filed by anonymous individuals.

The 157-page lawsuit alleges that OpenAI violated privacy laws by secretly scraping 300 billion words from the internet and misappropriating personal data on a vast scale for profits.

The suit also includes claims of larceny, unjust enrichment, violations of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, etc. (See more here)

The plaintiffs are demanding a whopping $3 billion in damages!😳

Oh, but that's not all - They’re also asking the court to press the "pause" button on OpenAI's commercial access and further product development.

And guess who else got invited to this legal fiesta?

Microsoft, which plans to invest a reported $13 billion in OpenAI, was also named as a defendant.

🤨 Mozilla’s AI Help: More Trouble Than Assistance?

Mozilla recently introduced a new feature called “AI Help” on its platform, but it doesn’t seem to be working out as planned!

The new feature, which also includes an AI Explain button was supposed to assist web developers in finding information quickly.

However, users have reported instances of the AI generating incorrect advice, contradicting itself, and struggling to understand CSS functions. (See instances here).

Whoops! The inclusion of unreliable AI-generated content may put a dent in Mozilla's reputation.😬

Mozilla has hit the pause button on the AI Explain button for now.

So, let's hope that Mozilla can fine-tune its AI Help and bring it back with a bang.🤞
