🗣️ OpenAI rolls out Advanced Voice Mode!

OpenAI is rolling out Advanced Voice Mode (AVM) to ChatGPT Plus and Teams subscribers this week, and Enterprise and Education users will join next week.

Once AVM is available, users will receive a pop-up in the ChatGPT app next to the voice icon, so keep an eye out.

What's new with AVM?

ChatGPT now offers five additional voices—Arbor, Maple, Sol, Spruce, and Vale—bringing the total to nine.

That’s almost as many as Google’s Gemini Live, and you might have noticed that all of these names are inspired by nature, right?

Well, that’s because the whole point of AVM is to make using ChatGPT feel more natural.

AVM has greatly improved, so it is better at understanding accents now, and its conversations are smoother and faster—so says OpenAI.

But that's not all — AVM is getting a fresh new look!

The feature is now represented by a blue animated sphere instead of the animated black dots that OpenAI showed in May during its showcase of the technology. 

OpenAI is also expanding some of ChatGPT’s customization features to AVM.

For example, users can personalize how ChatGPT responds to them with custom instructions and use memory to remember conversations for later reference.

However, some features are still missing from this rollout.

The ‘Sky’ voice, which OpenAI showcased during its spring update and subsequently led to a legal threat from Scarlett Johansson, is absent.

Another missing feature is ChatGPT’s video and screen sharing, which OpenAI debuted during its spring update four months ago.

That feature is supposed to let GPT-4o simultaneously process visual and audible information, like asking ChatGPT real-time questions about math on a piece of paper in front of you or code on your computer screen.

AVM is also unavailable in several regions, including the EU, the U.K., Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein.

🤩 Google's Gemini AI Is Now a Core Part of Workspace!

Google is leveling up its AI game by fully integrating Gemini AI into its Workspace productivity suite.

And the best part? No more separate add-ons are needed!

Starting in Q4, Workspace Business, Enterprise, or Frontline plan users will have Gemini built right in by default - no extra steps, just automatic access.

Now, here’s the exciting bit:

Google is ensuring that Gemini follows the same privacy rules as Gmail and Docs. This means that none of your company’s data, prompts, or responses will be used to train or improve Gemini.

Plus, admins will soon get even more control.

They’ll be able to decide whether Gemini gets to store responses and prompts and even set limits on how long they stick around.

On the security side, Google isn't messing around, either.

Gemini now comes with top-tier certifications like SOC 1/2/3 and ISO 27701 (yep, it's the best in the biz for data privacy and security).

So, businesses can dive into AI without worrying about security headaches.

To keep things even safer, Google is rolling out a shiny new tool called “Security Advisor,” which will send security insights right to your IT team's inbox and help guard against malware, phishing, and other threats.

It even comes with added protection for Chrome, Gmail, and Google Drive and will soon be available for all paid Workspace customers.

In summary, Google is giving you Gemini with no extra fuzz or data tricks—just smarter and safer productivity right where you need it.

With this move, Gemini could be in the hands of millions, making it a major player in the productivity world.
