🤖  The AI Agent Set to Revolutionize Your Web Browsing.

OpenAI has officially unleashed “Operator”—its first AI agent that doesn’t just chat but actually does things for you.

We’re talking real actions like filling out forms, ordering groceries, and yes, even whipping up memes.

Right now, it’s exclusively available to U.S. users on ChatGPT’s $200 Pro plan, but don’t worry—OpenAI plans to roll it out to more users soon.

So, what exactly can Operator do?

Think of it as your digital assistant with a hands-on approach. Instead of merely suggesting what you should do, it goes ahead and does it all, including clicking, typing, and scrolling its way through websites just like any human.

It’s powered by OpenAI’s new Computer-Using Agent (CUA) model, which blends the visual prowess of GPT-4o with advanced reasoning skills.

And get this: It can “see” web pages and interact with them using mouse and keyboard actions, plus if it encounters any challenges or errors, it can use its reasoning abilities to correct itself.

In other words, it has no need for complicated developer APIs; Operator works seamlessly with regular websites, making it surprisingly versatile.

But let’s not crown it king of the internet just yet.

Operator isn’t perfect and definitely isn’t ready to manage your entire digital life. In fact, It struggles with complex tasks like crafting intricate presentations or juggling packed calendars.

And when it comes to sensitive activities like paying bills, you’ll still need to step in (because no one wants their mortgage payment accidentally rerouted to a lifetime supply of dog food).

But since safety is top priority for OpenAI, they’ve put strict guardrails in place. So rest assured, Operator won’t touch your credit card info, send emails, or delete calendar events.

Oh, and like any good assistant, Operator knows when it’s out of its depth.

If it hits tricky spots like CAPTCHAs or password fields, where OpenAI admits it can get stuck, it’ll politely hand things back to you. Plus, there are daily usage limits in place, so don’t expect it to go full throttle just yet.

Right now, you can check out Operator on operator.chatgpt.com, but don’t worry—it won’t be staying there forever. OpenAI has big plans to roll it out across all ChatGPT platforms in the future.

Meanwhile, CEO Sam Altman also teased the arrival of o3-mini, an upcoming AI model set to join the free tier with promises of sharper reasoning and step-by-step logic.

Sounds like more good news, right? Well according to Altman, this new addition could be launched within 2-weeks!

But here’s the bottom line: AI agents are here, they’re getting smarter, and it’s only a matter of time before they become a regular part of our daily lives—taking over the boring tasks while we kick back and relax (or, maybe quietly freak out about it).

🤳 Perplexity has introduced a mobile assistant app for Android users.

Perplexity has supercharged its AI “answer engine,” transitioning it into a fully-fledged mobile assistant.

Whether you need help drafting emails, setting reminders, or even finding Pikachu right on your desk, this assistant is primed to help—and it comes with some seriously cool features.

Perplexity’s innovative mobile assistant isn’t merely reactive; it’s a game-changer that takes action!

What makes this assistant stand out is its multimodal functionality. It can interact with whatever’s on your screen or in your camera view.

One adventurous user tested it with a McDonald’s Pokémon card pack (no judgment, we promise!) and was amazed when the assistant accurately identified the card. How cool is that, especially for a promotion that just launched?

Got a ride to catch? Just tell it where to go, and voilà—it opens Uber with options ready at your fingertips.

Want to tune into a podcast? Simply ask, and it’s right there queuing up The Joe Rogan Experience (taste aside, you can’t deny it’s fast!).

The assistant plays nicely with popular apps like Spotify, YouTube, Uber, email, messaging, and clock functions.

However, don’t expect it to juggle everything just yet—Slack, Reddit, and YouTube comments are still off the table.

Perplexity spokesperson Sara Platnick says they have exciting plans for more features and app integrations, so this is just the tip of the iceberg!

For now, you can download the Perplexity app, set it as your default assistant, and just like that—you’re ready to go! Access it effortlessly by swiping up from the left corner or holding down your home button.

Unfortunately, if you’re an iOS user, you’ll have to hang tight for now. Perplexity is waiting for Apple to grant the necessary permissions to unleash its potential on iPhones.

The competition in the mobile AI assistant arena is heating up, with Samsung’s Gemini-powered Galaxy S25 and Google’s revamped AI assistant making significant waves.

While Perplexity might not have all the flashy features yet, its unique blend of screen intelligence and real-world task capabilities could make it a formidable player in the game.
