🤯 OpenAI’s Sora Launch Hits a Jam!

OpenAI finally unleashed its video generator, Sora, to the public after months of teasing—only for it to buckle under the pressure of its own hype and popularity.

Within hours of launch, the platform was flooded with eager users, so OpenAI had to slam the brakes on new signups.

For now, it’s a U.S.-only affair, but even this limited rollout caused a digital traffic jam of epic proportions.

And social media? Oh, it’s already drowning in a tidal wave of AI-generated videos.

ChatGPT Plus subscribers can crank out up to 50 clips a month, but guess what? Some users burned through their quota faster than you can say “AI magic.”

Meanwhile, Pro users, dropping a hefty $200 a month, can churn out up to 500 videos. Clearly, Sora’s debut has people talking and generating like there’s no tomorrow.

CEO Sam Altman said the company had “significantly underestimated demand” and that it’ll take a while to get everyone access to Sora.

In other words, we’ll still have to exercise a bit more patience.

But wait, there’s even more chaos!

Over the weekend, Grok users got a taste of Aurora, a shiny new image generator that mysteriously appeared and then, poof, disappeared like it never existed.

Apparently, Aurora wasn’t supposed to be live yet, but that didn’t stop users from putting it through its paces.

And the results?

Everything from stunningly photorealistic Cybertrucks to some eyebrow-raising outputs involving public figures, politicians, and even a bizarre Luigi vs. Mickey Mouse boxing match.

Yep, the kind of thing AI image tools usually avoid.

To its credit, Aurora drew the line at explicit content, but it didn’t seem to mind bloodied depictions of Donald Trump. Yikes.

So, what’s the takeaway? OpenAI and its peers are clearly pushing the boundaries of what AI can do, but hey,they might be needing bigger servers or better filters to keep up with us humans and our wild imaginations.
