🚫 OpenAI's Bold Move to Stop Election Misinformation!
Ever stumbled upon a convincing AI-generated image or video that left you questioning the very fabric of reality?
Now, imagine the chaos such misinformation could cause in the upcoming US elections!😱
Thankfully, OpenAI is (finally) doing something about it, especially in regard to the upcoming election.
You can no longer use ChatGPT, Dall-E, and other OpenAI tools to impersonate candidates or local governments, run campaigns, or lobby. Plus, discouraging voting or misrepresenting the voting process in any way is an absolute no-no.
To ensure that all generated info is legit, OpenAI tools will be directing all voting-related questions to CanIVote.org, which is one of the best resources on the web for learning where and how to cast your vote in the US. You can trust that the information you get there is legit and up-to-date.
OpenAI is also teaming up with the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) — Soon, images from Dall-E will come stamped with digital credentials that make it easier to spot AI-generated fakes without having to rely on gut feeling or spend hours examining the image for misalignments.
Big players like Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, and Getty are also working with C2PA to combat misinformation through AI image generation.
But these measures are still rolling out and rely on users reporting bad actors. So, in the meantime, stay sharp, question the unbelievable, and maybe do a quick Google search to fact-check your ChatGPT's wild claims.
