πŸ˜₯ Apple’s AI Assistant Still MIA After WWDC 2025

Apple just wrapped up day one of its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2025), and as expected, there was a lot of sparkleβ€”new OS features, a slick new design called Liquid Glass, and plenty of AI talk.

But when it came to Siri’s long-hyped AI glow-up? Crickets.

Okay, maybe not total silenceβ€”Craig Federighi (Apple’s SVP of Software Engineering), gave it a quick, casual mention during the keynote and moved right along. No demo, no deep dive, just a really vague timeline that left us more confused.

For context: Apple teased this smarter, more personal version of Siri last year, calling it their β€œnext big step.”

It was supposed to turn Siri into an actual useful assistant that understands your routine, knows your relationships, remembers contexts, and works across your apps without needing constant babysitting.

But behind the scenes? It’s been messy.

According to Bloomberg, the in-development version of Siri was only getting things right two-thirds of the time. Definitely not Apple’s β€œit just works” standard.

So, Apple hit pause.

They delayed the rollout, officially admitted they needed β€œmore time,” and even did a little leadership shuffleβ€”pulling John Giannandrea (SVP of Machine Learning and AI Strategy) off the project and replacing him with Mike Rockwell, the guy behind Vision Pro.

That move alone said a lot: Siri needed fixing, and fast.

Meanwhile, Apple wasn’t about to let Siri flop completely. They made a smart call: partnering with OpenAI. So now, when Siri doesn’t have the answer, she’ll call in ChatGPT for backup.

And yes they’re doubling downβ€”Apple’s Image Playground, their AI image generation app, is getting ChatGPtT’s support.

Now, don’t get it twistedβ€”Apple’s not completely sleeping on AI. They In fact still dropped a bunch of solid AI updates, including:

  • A next-gen, AI-powered Shortcuts app for smarter automation and scripting

  • On-device foundation models for devs

  • A more advanced Genmoji creator

  • Live translation built right into the OS

  • Smarter Visual Intelligence for image recognition

  • AI in Xcode

  • And an AI β€œWorkout Buddy” for the Apple Watch

But let’s be real: people came for the new Siriβ€”and they definitely noticed her absence.

Apple’s clearly playing the long game, aiming for something polished, personal, and truly reliable. But in today’s AI race, where OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic are dropping new features every few weeks, β€œcoming in 2026” feels like an eternity.

So, where are we now?

Siri’s still in the lab. ChatGPT’s helping carry the load. And we’re all just... waiting. Again.

πŸ—£οΈ The Race for Realistic AI Voices Heats Up

Over the weekend, OpenAI quietly dropped a major update to its voice mode β€” and honestly? It’s starting to sound way more like a real human and less like a polite robot trapped in a podcast.

Here’s what changed (and why it actually matters):

  • It talks better β€” like, way better: The new voices flow smoother, with more natural pauses and actual emotional range β€” (we’re talking sarcasm, empathy, you name it). Basically, it can now throw shade or sound sweet without glitching out.

  • Live translations just got smarter: You can now ask ChatGPT to translate convos in real-time β€” and it’ll keep going until you say β€œstop” or switch languages.

  • It’s available now β€” but only if you’re paying: Anyone on a paid ChatGPT plan (Plus and up) gets access across platforms. So yeah, you’ll need to cough up a few bucks to hear the magic.

Now, for the not-so-glamorous part:

OpenAI admits you might still hear some funky audio glitches β€” think random pitch changes, occasional gibberish, or even surprise background music.

Plus, it also still hallucinates sometimes, so don’t expect perfection just yet.

But here’s the bigger picture:

OpenAI isn't just showing off β€” it’s in fact part of a full-on AI voice race.

Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and ElevenLabs are all chasing the same goal

That is: Voices that don’t sound like a 2005 GPS.

And then there’s accessibility

Sure, ChatGPT’s voice sounds more human now, but it still struggles with complex tasks, especially compared to text mode.

For users who rely on voice β€” like folks with disabilities or heavy accents β€” the tech still falls short.

The bottom line:

Despite all the hype and promise, the truth is... the tech still isn’t quite there yet.

The vibes are right. But the reliability? Still catching up.

πŸ€– ChatGPT Prompt Of The Day: See Yourself Like Never Before

When you use AI to visualize yourself, it shouldn’t be generic. It should feel like you. This prompt helps you craft an emotionally rich and deeply personal image prompt β€” one that captures your voice, your vibe, and your values.

Whether you’re using it for branding, storytelling, or just creative self-reflection, this isn’t just about generating an image β€” it’s about expressing a whole identity.

Here’s How to Execute This Prompt Effectively:

  1. Know your vibe: Before using the prompt, think about how you’d describe your tone, aesthetic, and emotional essence.

  2. Add context clues: DALLΒ·E responds better to specific visuals β€” think "sepia-toned," "calligraphy-inspired," or "sitting under a lamplight with a quill." Mix timeless with modern:

  3. Blend elements : for example, traditional attire or poetic ambiance, with modern symbols (e.g., digital pen, city skyline).

  4. Make it about the feeling, not just the look. What emotions or stories should the image evoke?

Here’s an example:

You are an expert creative director and AI image prompt artist. Based on everything you know about me β€” my tone, style, personality, interests, and how I speak β€” generate a highly personalized and emotionally resonant image prompt where I am the main subject.

Give it a <studio Ghibli-style illustration>. Blend poetic, cultural, and introspective elements. Include rich visual details that reflect both the outer world and the inner one β€” emotional symbolism, cultural nods, and the aesthetic of timeless wisdom meeting contemporary soul.
