📸 Snapchat enters the AI video race!
Snapchat just unveiled a new AI video-generation tool that allows creators to whip up videos from simple text prompts and, soon, images!
Sounds pretty awesome, right? But here's the catch:
It's currently in beta and only available on the web for a small group of creators. So, unless you're one of the chosen few, you'll have to wait.
But hey, you’ll be glad to know that Snap has taken all precautions.
Every AI-created video will come with a watermark, so when you come across one of these videos, Snapchat will let you know it's AI-generated through special icons and context cards.
And get this: They've gone the extra mile to ensure these AI videos are safe and clean, with multiple safeguards in place throughout the process.
So yeah, there's no room for funny business here!
Snapchat is clearly aiming to stay ahead of the game, especially with rivals like TikTok and Instagram yet to embrace the AI video trend.
And while Meta already teased a similar tool back in 2022 (called Make-A-Video), it’s still unavailable to the public.
Plus, with companies like Adobe and OpenAI gearing up to release their versions soon, Snapchat hopes to get a head start.
But here’s the thing—Snap hasn't actually shown us what these AI videos look like yet.
So, while they’re claiming an early lead in the AI video race, it’s still anyone’s guess how well their tool will perform against the competition.
But if they get it right, they could be on to something big; who knows?🤷♀️

💃 o1 is now in ChatGPT Free!
OpenAI recently launched the o1-mini model, part of its latest reasoning family of AI models—and guess what?
They’ve made it free in ChatGPT without even signing up for an account!
And unlike other AI models like GPT-4 or Anthropic's Claude, o1 takes a more thoughtful approach, solving problems step-by-step before giving an answer, which reduces errors or hallucinations.
However, you should bear in mind that the o1 family of models has some limitations.
It takes a bit longer to get a response, and there is no multi-modal capability, so you can only work with text — you can't give it a document or an image.
OpenAI has also imposed limits on how often you can use it.
However, they recently increased the weekly message limit from 30 to 50 for o1-preview and more than 200 for o1-mini paid subscribers.
Despite these limitations, the model can generate highly detailed responses, even entire codebases, making it ideal for complex tasks that require more depth.
Just remember to be more specific in your queries because the o1 family of models reasons through their responses.
