Welcome Automaters, 👋

So listen up: Most content out there helps you stay "informed," which is usually just code for "here is a mountain of noise to stress you out." Very little helps you think clearly and act with confidence. That is why we built The Automated.

Our members aren’t just playing with prompts for fun; they are building actual leverage. It is about signal, structure, and systems, delivered at your pace.

So Choose Your Track

Whether you are an investor, operator, or builder, we have a lane designed for your specific speed:

Why Upgrade? 🚀

Information is everywhere. Perspective and lived experience are not. We don’t just tell you that AI is changing the world (we have all heard that enough, right?). We help you understand where and how it actually matters for your bank account and your decisions.

The best way to predict the future isn’t to guess it. It is to understand exactly how it is being built.

🙅‍♀️ Anthropic’s "National Security" Risk Label and the OpenAI Pentagon Deal: What You Need to Know

Hey y’all, we hope you’re buckled in cuz this past weekend the AI world didn't just make headlines: it basically wrote a political thriller. We’ve got robots, military standoffs, and enough drama to make a reality TV producer blush.

Here’s your play-by-play of the chaos.

First off: The Pentagon (which is now officially the Department of War under the Trump administration) issued a massive demand: AI companies must allow their models to be used for "any lawful purpose."

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei decided to play hardball. He drew a very clear line in the sand: no mass spying on Americans and absolutely no fully self-driving weapons. He even published a firm statement saying these ethics were non-negotiable.

The wild part: More than 60 OpenAI employees and 300 Google employees signed an open letter supporting his position. Talk about a plot twist!

But hey, the retaliation was basically instant. President Trump on Truth Social called Anthropic "left-wing nut jobs," ordering all federal agencies to stop using their products, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth dropped the hammer. Anthropic is now officially labeled a "national security supply chain risk."

Why the "Supply Chain" Label is a Total Nightmare 😱

This part is genuinely alarming for anyone who cares about free enterprise. In fact, this is the first time the U.S. government has designated a domestic startup as a "supply chain risk" over a contract dispute. Usually, that’s a label we save for foreign adversaries like Huawei.

  • The Scope: Hegseth declared that no contractor doing business with the military can conduct any commercial activity with Anthropic.

  • The Legal Fight: Anthropic is fighting back using 10 USC 3252. They argue this label should only apply to Pentagon contracts, not their everyday business.

  • The Chilling Effect: Even if Anthropic wins in court, the damage is done. Every Fortune 500 company with a government contract now has to wonder if using Claude is worth a legal headache.

But here’s the mind bending part:

With Anthropic out of the picture, Sam Altman swooped in. He announced a deal letting the Pentagon use OpenAI’s models in classified networks.

The kicker: Altman claims OpenAI has the exact same red lines as Anthropic ( meaning no autonomous weapons, or mass surveillance). So why did they get the deal?

It comes down to the fine print. Anthropic wanted their ethics written into the contract in black and white. OpenAI agreed to the "any lawful purpose" language, claiming their cloud-only architecture provides "stronger real-world protection" than any contract clause. And get this: Altman admitted the deal was "definitely rushed" and that "the optics don't look good." (We appreciate the honesty, Sam!)

Howeverrrr… experts aren’t exactly buying that “we’d never do that” energy. They’re pointing out the fine print in the new deal and saying, yeah… there are clauses in there that could open the door to mass surveillance and a few other spicy extras Altman insists they never agreed to.

So now it’s basically public promise vs. contract language. And the internet? Having a field day.

But in the most ironic twist of the year: while OpenAI was catching heat for the deal, Anthropic’s Claude app shot to #1 in the Apple App Store. Apparently, losing a $200 million government contract is great for the brand!

Claude rocketed from the top 100 to the #1 spot in a single week, even knocking ChatGPT to second place.

The "Principled" Bump:

  • Record Signups: Daily signups for Claude have tripled since November.

  • The Katy Perry Factor: Yes, even Katy Perry posted a screenshot of her Anthropic Pro subscription with a heart drawn over it. We didn't have "Pop Stars saving AI ethics" on our 2026 bingo card, but we’re here for it.

  • The Narrative: Users are flocking to Anthropic because they want an AI company that stands up for them. Turns out, getting banned by the Pentagon is excellent marketing!

The Big Picture

This isn't just a spicy tech beef. It’s a preview of the biggest question in AI: Who actually controls the "kill switch"?

If the government can blacklist a company for having safety rules, the rules of the game just changed forever.

🤖 AI Workout Of The Day: How to Keep Your Characters from Morphing

AI Generated

Ever tried to generate a comic book or a children’s story and watched your main character go from a "rugged explorer" to a "confused barista" in just three prompts? It’s the infamous AI Identity Crisis. But it’s 2026, and the "Character Consistency" problem has officially been solved.

What makes this special: We’re moving from "Prompt & Pray" to Identity Locking. Tools now use mathematical "fingerprints" (called embeddings or LoRAs) to ensure your character's facial structure, hair, and even that tiny scar on their chin stay identical across 100 different scenes. This is the tech that’s turning hobbyists into full-blown indie film directors and graphic novelists overnight.

The Tool: Midjourney’s "--cref" (Character Reference) in Model Version 6 and Niji 6.

Midjourney is the current king of consistency. Here is the dead-simple 10-year-old-friendly guide:

  • Step 1: Generate your "Master Image." This is your character’s "Driver's License photo"—make it clear and simple.

  • Step 2: Right-click the image and Copy Link.

  • Step 3: Start a new prompt for a new scene (e.g., /imagine prompt: our hero eating giant spaghetti).

  • Step 4: At the end of your prompt, type --cref followed by a space and paste your link.

  • Step 5: Add --cw 100 if you want them to keep the same clothes, or --cw 0 if you want them to change outfits but keep the same face.

Pro Tip: Want to make it even more consistent? Use the Midjourney Web Alpha  Character Tool to simply drag and drop your character into the "Character Reference" slot. No code needed!

Also: if you're using Version 7, the standalone --cref parameter has been superseded by a more powerful Omni-Reference system.

💡 Prompt to Try For Getting Smarter Responses with Better Prompts:

Share your current prompts and ask:

"Review this prompt I use for [SPECIFIC TASK]. Suggest ways to make it more effective by adding context, parameters, or structural elements: [YOUR CURRENT PROMPT]"
