š¤ US Military Tests AI's Ability to Plan a Response to a Potential Global Conflict
United State Military wants to know if AI can assist in planning responses to potential global conflicts or provide faster access to internal information.
And guess what?
Initial tests have shown promising results.
In one test, one of the AI tools completed a request in 10 minutes.
This is a significant improvement as a task like that typically takes days and involves multiple personnel to complete.
Although, this doesn't mean it's ready for deployment. However, US Air Force Colonel Matthew Strohmeyer said this could happen soon.
āļø NYC Companies Must Prove Their AI Hiring Software isn't Sexist or Racist.
Under the new law, companies in NYC (New York City) using AI hiring software must undergo an audit by a third-party company to verify that the software is free of racist or sexist bias.
They're also mandated to post a summary of the result on their website.
Kevin Collier from NBC News discussed how regulators intend to enforce this law.
While the new law is primarily seen as a positive step, some experts believe it has limitations.
Julia Stoyanovich, a computer science professor at New York University, has pointed out that it doesnāt address age-based discrimination or disabilities.
