🤩 WhatsApp's New AI Feature!

Exciting news for WhatsApp users!
A new generative AI feature is in the works that will allow you to create avatars of yourself in any environment you can imagine - from a serene forest to the depths of outer space!
This feature, found by WABetaInfo in the latest WhatsApp Beta for Android, combines your photos, text prompts, and Meta’s AI Llama model to generate unique images for you.
And it's pretty easy to use!
All you need to do is “take photos of yourself once,” which will be used to train Meta AI.
Once you've done that, you can create your avatar by typing "Imagine me" with a description of your chosen setting in a chat with Meta AI or in any other WhatsApp conversation using "@Meta AI imagine me..."
But if something like this is not your cup of tea, no worries!
The feature will be optional and requires manual activation in WhatsApp settings. You can also delete your reference images anytime through Meta AI settings.
As for the official release date, that's still up in the air.
And since WhatsApp is still working on putting its Meta AI chatbot everywhere and adding more real-time AI image generation for US users, it may take a little while to reach us.

😱 Security Scare at OpenAI!

The New York Times just dropped a bombshell about OpenAI!
Apparently, earlier last year, OpenAI had a major security breach. A hacker managed to sneak into their internal messaging systems and snatched some sensitive information about their AI technologies.
Although the hacker didn't get their hands on the actual GPT models, they did manage to grab some juicy discussions from an employee forum.
What's even more jaw-dropping is that OpenAI decided to keep this whole thing under wraps!
They neither inform the public nor involve law enforcement. Why, you ask?
According to them, it didn't count as a major threat to national security since no customer or partner information was taken.
However, some employees are concerned about potential exploitation by foreign entities, especially when it comes to national security.
To add fuel to the fire, Leopold Aschenbrenner, a former OpenAI manager, expressed his concerns in a memo and a podcast and then got fired. Yikes!
This breach, coupled with some serious internal disagreements over AI risks, adds to the challenges OpenAI has been facing recently, including CEO Sam Altman's conflicts with the board and the departure of AI safety researchers.
Despite these challenges, experts like Daniela Amodei from Anthropic suggest that the theft of current AI designs isn’t a major national security threat for now.
But as AI evolves, the stakes could definitely rise!
